Birthday - Random Acts of Kindness
Just read this and thought I'd share... What a great way to do something special and give back!
65th Birthday - Random Acts of Kindness
Made me think... Do you do Random Acts of Kindness? Or have you received?
I'll never forget an act of Kindness towards my brother and I... 20 years ago, broken down on Ocean Parkway we called a tow truck. A random guy stopped to help - let us use his cell to call our Mom and even offered us $400 to pay the tow truck guy. We didn't take the money, but when I asked him, all he said was that he hopes someone would stop to help his kids if they needed it.
Taught me to do random things - for instance, last week, I was going through the Wendy's drive through.. I got there the same time as another woman and she let me go ahead of her.
At the window to pay, I also paid for her order and asked the cashier to thank her for being kind.
What about you?
eta for spelling

Birthday - Random Acts of Kindness
I was in Florida on vacaton when I got a call that my mother was gravely ill. I left asap and in the airport that morning, I was very upset and crying, and by myself. A total stranger asked me if she could hug me and while I normally would have been put off by that, it was exactly what I needed. She then told me that she and her husband were flying to NY to see their daughter who was pregnant with a high risk pregnancy and was experiencing some problems. I often wonder what happened with their grandchild and hope that it all worked out for them.

Re: Birthday - Random Acts of Kindness
I love random acts of kindness. I do them but it isn't something I keep track of. More like buying someone in need lunch, donating things, paying for the next person behind in the drive thru.

Re: Birthday - Random Acts of Kindness
The other day I was at king kullen in line to pay for my groceries when an elderly woman in front of me was basically counting her change and having the cashier take food off - when she was done I told the cashier to ring up the food and I paid for it for her.... Just so sad to think people (elderly or not) going hungry.... You could see in her eyes she was grateful. It was nice to pay it forward....
To add to the grocery store stories, I was at shoprite and getting some Ronzoni pasta - I had 5 boxes of ziti but the sale only allowed 4 of a kind. The customer behind me said oh use my card to get the other box, not only did she give the store card for the sale but she was actually going to buy the box of pasta. I was very touched.....
