How long did it take for you to get your child's birth certificate and social security card after they were born?

ds #1 - we got ss and birth certiificate on the same day, about 4 weeks
ds#2 - ss after 2 weeks, birth certificate it took forever like 6 weeks

birth certificate took about a week & ss card took 2

DS is a month old and I just got his SS card the other day, still waiting on the Birth Cert.
I delivered at Winthrop

DD : SS card took about 2wks
Birth Certificate: Took about 5 wks for it to arrive

delivered at good sam and got both within the 3rd week... if yours take longer definately call and follow up because insurance company usually needs these items within the first 30 days..

Birth certificate took a month, SS card took about 3 months, the hospital forgot to file it - I think because DS was born right before Christmas. Tilde posted a great table - I think it's supposed to come in 2-3 weeks.
If it hasn't come, you can call SS and see if it's on file and then call the hospital to follow up.
