Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
Whats the starting weight that we're posting? The beginning of this week, or the beginning of our weight loss?

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
OK, I don't have a picture of the last weight loss. I have one picture of me from the weekend, but for some reason I look fat in it, so the first pic is me at my highest weight in 2006 at 228lbs! The seconc pic is me earlier this year at about 213. I'm not sure if you can tell the difference. I'm 202 now. I'm adding a 3rd pic from 2 weeks ago, but I'm in a coat, so it's hard to tell. I'm down 25.7 altogether.

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
Well, my story is pretty typical - I steadily gained weight through college and then law school and went up and down a lot during that period, but more up than down. I lost a whole bunch of weight for my wedding, then gained the newlywed 9... er, 19 in my case. Then I lost weight before TTC, and gained weight during TTC after having some trouble getting pregnant, had a baby, lost that weight, but then gained a bunch, etc., etc., etc. My health and weight plague me but I haven't made them a priority in a long time and I'm now up from pre-pregnancy and dangerously close to highest ever while not pregnant and decided it was time to get serious again and stop being miserable about my weight. I also now have thyroid issues so that's an added complication, but I'm managing. So, here I am, I started WW again for real just about a week ago (I've been enrolled online and half-as$ing for months). Yesterday was my first WW weigh-in day and I was down 3 lbs. Today I was up 1 from that, which I hope is just water weight or bloating or something but I want to keep it honest so here are my numbers:
Starting weight (as of a week from Tuesday): 160 Today's weight: 158 Difference: -2
Goal: 130
My homework to myself is to try to get some exercise in somewhere before next week. Given my job, significant exercise is not realistic until January when my hours go back to normal - this part of the year is just too busy and I'm working a lot from home in the evenings.
Good luck everyone!

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
Okay here we go:
I have always been a yo-yo with my weight. I was good for a long time into my marriage but of course gained over the years (not too much though). Then we started TTC and struggled and I ended up gaining weight. Went through a couple of years of fertility meds (injections and such) and that really aided in me packing on the weigh. I was able to lose some and then got preggo. I was probably about 150 when I got preggo the first time and then went up to about 175 during pregnancy. I had a little girl and then shed the weight quickly. Two years later TTC again and did but got up to 200 lbs during that pregnancy. My DD is 20 months now but since her birth I have been a yo-yo. I struggled to lose the weight I gained with her....I got down to 142 before this summer but it quickly came back over the summer when I was home from work with my girls. So here I am up to 165 (yesterday) and miserable.
Exercise is not my problem. I work out at least 4 days a week, but most often 5 days. It's my diet....I have no self control. One bite of something turns into another, which turns into a meal of it.
Starting weight: 165 Goal: 145
Tasks: drink more water resist temptation make healthy choices don't eat off of DD's plates

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
i would like to join! i have always been a yo yo dieter forever... now i am on the upswing and i can't let it continue. as it is i already gained my "newlywed 15". my last straw was 2 days ago when DH had to take me to a doctor (i had a spastic mishap) and actually saw me get on the scale. it was embarrassing to say the least! thank goodness DH loves me anyway but anyway i would like to lose an initial goal of 15 lbs and overall 20lbs. Exercise is not my problem either, its diet, and i got really lax about eating and got tired of restricting myself, let myself have what i wanted, and now here i am!! ugh.. well good luck to all!
PS- i will FM you my numbers!

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
I gained weight over my 2 pregnancies. I gained 60 pounds with the first (lost all but 10) and gained 50 with the second
My problem was breastfeeding. I was producing so much that the pounds were melting away and I was eating like a pig. I got close to losing all the weight, but once I stopped BF and still ate poorly, I gained some weight back.
Last year, I was really training hard for a marathon (to get a certain time to qualify for the Boston Marathon) and I ended up gaining 10 pounds during that!! (When you burn 2000-2500 calories in a run, you feel like you can eat anything).
I hope you don't mind that I don't put my weight down yet, but I would like to lose 20% Like Dawn, my problem is eating. I feel like since I run so much, that I am entitled. I used to take salads to work everyday but reward myself for eating a salad with something bad. This week I started bringing frozen meals and they are quite satisfying on their own.

Lucky girl! I had the huge appetite while BFing, but lost no weight!
I started on my diet as soon as I weaned DD!
It's fine that you don't wanna post specifics! just keep us updated on how your doing!

I hear ya, Erica! You looked great when I saw you when we tried that Bootcamp a few years ago!! I go through the same things as you though..."I worked out so I can eat cookies mentality." Doesn't work for any of us.....

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
Okay- I want to loose 70 lbs.
That would bring me down to 150.
I was heavy before I got pregnant (190) then gained 40 lbs, lost some after having the baby, and gained most back.
I really need to get on top of my eating habits and start exercising.
I am a member of WW online.
About 7 years ago I had lost 60lbs on Atkins- looked and felt great (no pics on the computer). I'd be happy to get down to 160-165.
I've always been a curvy girl- even at my thinnest (139) I was still wearing a size 8/10 and my hip bones were hanging out lol
I just feel like I'm always tired. :-/ I don't know how I let myself get this way...
I was walking with the baby, but now it's Freezing out!
I was thinking of starting a public blog to hold myself accountable.
Here's a before pic (DH needs to drop some weight too.)
I can't believe I'm posting this- it's the worst picture ever-.
I'd like to get back to this- (Honeymoon pic- 9/07)- if not thinner

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
I think this is GREAT and I'd like to join in too
I am currently 217lbs - I was 274lbs back in March when I started. I decided to see an endrocronologst for many reasons, mostly because I was diabetic and on 4 different types of medications. Today I'm on absolutely no meds with the exception of my BC pill which I'm going to stop soon because in June I want TTC.
My inspiration is DH and also having a more healthy pregnancy when the time comes for us. I don't want to be a high risk pregnancy. It brought tears to my eyes that the doctor always said "you are able to get pregnant but I wouldn't recommend you get pregnant at your weight right now".
Also the fact that I'm doing well right now with the regimen that I'm on..that keeps me going and the thought of smaller size clothing is also an incentive too!
I need to resist temptation a bit- sometimes I have hit a plateu and it's discouraging but I keep chugging on. I'd like to lose another 43lbs to make it an even 100lbs lost.
The first pic is back in 2008 when I got married. Second pic is New Year's 2009, and the third pic (in the purple shirt) is in 2010 (July) at a friends BBQ. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
I'm so trying! I am supposed to be weighing in at the doctors office every two weeks but my work schedule has been sooo crazy it's been impossible!
I think that's why I'm so tempted to cheat too with the fact that I'm not going on the days I'm supposed to.
DH brushes it off sometimes saying I'm worrying over nothing and as long as the end result is what I want it to be then I'm okay but I seriously want to lose what I can as fast as I can.

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
I must confess...this has been a terrible 5 days for me. I went into this week saying that I would try to be good but I wasn't able to hold to that. Basically, my parents are in town until Saturday and this is "our Christmas" with them so Mom and I have been baking & making elaborate meals for our holiday celebrations. Tonight we are having a cocktail party at my brother's house and the list goes on. I also have AF so I will definitely be up a few pounds.
Just want to lay it all out there.....
Anyone else have any confessions??? Make me feel better....

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
I had an okay day but was bad- was craving a cheese steak but all I had today was cut up honeydew, salad and the cheese steak.. I swear I'm not eating anything else today.
This weekend is going to be hard- we're going to DH's parents house and I'm sure there's going to be plenty of tempation.

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
I had a Crumbs cupcake the other day and a bagel yesterday from Ess-a-Bagel (they are gigantic).
DH and I were going to split a cupcake initially but we couldn't agree on a flavor so I got my own . I should've just immediately thrown half away.
My only saving grace is that I only had one monstrous bagel yesterday and I counted the cupcake and bagel in my points - yikes, it's scary to see it in points sometimes - I guess that's part of how this whole points thing actually works, lol.

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
I think I'd like to join. I have been overwieght for a long time now. I had twins and gained 53 lbs during pregnancy and lost it all plus another 25 after they were born. 2 years later I am now 2 lbs lighter than when I got PG. I want to lose about 75 lbs total. Maybe a bit more. I joined WW last week and lost 1.4 the 1st week. I think one of my major issues is wine! We drink wine almost every night after the kids go to bed...so I need to cut down on that. I weigh in again on Thursday and we'll see where I am then.

Re: Biggest Loser Week 1!
well today is weigh in day for me and as of this morning i am down 6.5 lbs! It may be a little off because last week i was weighed on the doctor's scale w/ shoes on, versus the scale in my home w/ no shoes... usually they say add 2 lbs to a doctors scale so maybe it was more like 4.5 lbs lost but still its some progress!! i have been very strict about what i have been eating this week.. the first day was the hardest... after that i challenged myself to get through another day, then another, and finally a week later i had some progress! I would like to lose another 10-15 lbs and hopefully i'll get there!
