Big babies and diaper sizes

I use 7th generation diapers....

My 21 month old boys at 29 bs wear a size 5....my 10 week (16ish lbs) old wears 3's - they are snug but fit. I put him in 5's overnight and they fit but are just longer and go high on his belly.

I had asked previously what people thought about 7th gen being true to size of other diapers, and I got that they were, but then yesterday my friends size 4 diaper was the same as the 7th gen.

I just find it nuts that my 10 week old can wear a size 5!

I also use Sev Gen and it definitely runs small. I use size 6 on my 22 month old DD as well as my 8 month old DD. When I was waiting for a shipment, I had to use Pampers size 6 Baby Dry and they were noticibly bigger on DD#1 and waaaay too big for DD#2. I wish they made a size 7 in regular Sev Gen diapers!

hmmmm, maybe they run small? DS is 14 weeks and about 15 lbs. He is in 2's and they are VERY roomy, we just moved him into 2's about 2 weeks ago. We use Pampers swaddlers or sensitive

i know that my neice in 21lbs (11 months) and is comfortable in size 3 pampers cruisers

That is nuts that your 10 week old can wear a size 5!! My almost 3 years old wears Huggie overnights in size 5 and she's 30 lbs!!!

I had 2 big babies at birth - 9.7 and 9.10 but grew at a slower rate so we really never had an issue with diapers. Alexandra is 3.5 months old and she wears a size 2 diaper, but I could probably get away with a 1 if I had to. At her last check up she was 12.10.

not only that, but i find the "weight range" to be way off. DS is starting to leak out of size 5s (luvs) so we're moving to 6, but he's only 26-27ish lbs. The size 6 box says 35+. He's really only chunky in the thighs/booty, so I guess that's making the difference.

I haven't tried 7th generation, but I started very similar thread, maybe it will give you some insight.

We switched to Luvs.

DS is much longer than he is wide, so they work so much better for us. I was really trying to avoid the chemical inserts, but he's not reacted to anything in Luvs yet. And they really work so well for us.

I feel your pain, as my DS was also 16lbs at 10 weeks.

I think at that age he was in Pampers size 3, but rapidly moved up the ranks. By 1 year (30lbs) he was in size 5 moving to size 6. Luckily for the last year he has been in size 7 and they are just starting to get tight.

I told you those diapers were freakishly small when I came to see Frankie for the first time and you showed me the "newborn" size. Those things could fit a frekkin doll. LOL.

We now use Luvs because Luke didn't fit right in any other diaper. He is a 4 in Luvs but a 5 for overnight. He and Nina wear the same size lol Luke is 18.5lbs and Nina is 25lbs.
