Biden voters...how are you feeling right now?

I'm curious how the Biden voters are feeling about this administration right now especially if you voted for them during the primaries.

I know in my social circle the ones who voted for Biden and celebrated our first woman VP are awfully quiet lately even though they were extremely vocal during the Trump administration.

Between the situation in Afghanistan, COVID cases going up despite vaccine availability, border crossings at an all time high, inflation and everything else going on, do you regret your vote?

It seems like Biden hasn't really addressed the issues above and Kamala has mostly been MIA. The situations above seem to be getting worse rather than better and we're only 8 months in.

I created an anonymous poll because we've seen how these threads can take a turn for the crazy Chat Icon

Not a Biden voter but it seems like it’s gone from “everything is the President’s fault” to “how could this possibly be the President’s fault?”

I'll add, I think in general people are quiet mostly because the chaos of Trump is gone. The endless tweeting and Trump's posturing to always have himself be front page news is what fueled almost all of the chatter, fighting and unrest among people. Biden is mostly quiet, like past presidents, so without him fueling peoples tempers everyone else is mostly quiet too. It's actually been lovely.

The Trumpies I know are quiet, the Biden voters are quiet and everyone in between is quiet. I feel like people have gone back to focusing on things other than politics and its honestly been awesome after the last 4 years of insanity.

Honestly it hasn’t really been quiet. You just probably don’t follow many of the news sources and pages on social media.

There is always something going on that they are talking about Biden and Harris.

Afghanistan is not really this or Trump's administration's fault. If you look at the peace treaty/cease fire and the commitment to withdrawal that was brokered in 2018/2019...what choices were on the table, really? If US didn't withdrawal, the Taliban would have started killing Americans again. Why were the prisoners (current de facto leaders of the Taliban) realized from Gitmo in 2016? or the Pakistani prison in 2018? There are too many moving pieces to blame one administration. Plus, withdrawal was always going to be messy. Afghanistan is an Islamic state and didn't want our form of democracy.
The border is troublesome but even with record numbers of migrants illegally crossing...the same number are being immediately deported unless they are minors that are not accompanied. I do agree with the move to try to work on the problems in Central America and believe that to stop the influx, the source needs to be addressed. Also, with the ARP, it is not possible to seek asylum in the US without being physically present and remaining in your home country.
Inflation - there are no real indications that inflation is a concern at this point. Supply chain issues are driving up the demand because of the lack of supply. Money is still cheap and interest rates are not going to move until the earliest 4Q22. The rise in gas prices is global as well as seasonal so that is not an issue that is US specific.
GDP increased 13% in 2Q21. Stock markets have continued to hit record highs. Unemployment is down, payroll is up.
The deficient does worry me. I do like the commitment to infrastructure in the US. I do agree with the new commitment to climate change and acknowledging that is an issue.
Voting for a politician does not mean that you agree with all they do, say or bring to the table.

You missed the point. I'm not talking about news sites.

Someone mentioned Biden voters are quiet. I said so are Trump voters and everyone else. On social media among people, it's absolutely less contentious than it's been.

Actually that's not true at all. Even CNN and MSNBC are talking about what's going on in this administration. There are plenty of regular folk also commenting on whats going on. It's not easy to avoid when gas prices have jumped so high, groceries cost more, and this entire pandemic/vaccination thing seems like it's never going to end. These are things that affect everyone alike no matter who they voted for especially because so much of it is directly affecting peoples pocketbooks.

Also I'm not sure how many Trump voters you know but the ones I do are not quiet at all as a matter of fact they are more vocal then ever. Even my friends who despised Trump are SMH at what a mess this administration is...it's kind of hard to not see it.

Unfortunately I know plenty of Trump supporters, they've been quiet.

As for this administration, like I said above......... still better than Trump.

FYI - Gas prices, food prices etc have nothing to do with Biden. Had Trump been around for another term, you'd still see those increases. Basic supply and demand coupled with post pandemic rebound.

You do realize that government policies affect all of this. Sure COVID may have some residual affect on some of the rising costs we have seen but certainly not all of it.

The inflation rate has spiked outside of norms. Gas has risen like 40% in less than a year..that's not normal.

Can I ask how you feel about the situation at the border especially now with COVID rates rising? Also the situation in Afghanistan right now where plenty of Americans, women and children will suffer and possibly lose their lives.

There was so much progress made there with womens rights and now with the Taliban in charge it will be wiped out. I know everyone was celebrating our first woman VP and this probably would be a good time for her to come up and do something yet she's been MIA. Not to mention now we have a heightened chance of another terrorist attack.

I just don't understand how for 4 years people constantly posted over and over and over ranting about Trump and every single thing he did or said giving the illusion they cared about our government and the direction of our country yet now with everything going on around us radio silence.....

After 4 years of Trump, I think most people are just exhausted to the point where discussing politics has become so unappealing. That's kinda where I'm at. I certainly don't agree with everything Biden does but I feel better under this administration than the last for numerous reasons. The main reason being that Trump was a lying, treasonous, unqualified moron who acted ONLY in his own best interest.

Maybe to you but there are plenty of discussions around politics going around. Especially lately. I don't think it ever died down honestly.
Maybe you avoid it like you should have done with Trump that annoyed you so badly.

Please don't worry about what I read, who I engage with or what annoys me. It's clear you will ALWAYS say the EXACT opposite of any comment that is made on these boards.

I don't really need your two cents. Thanks. Enjoy your day.

Jellybean said the exact same thing to you. Where was THAT temper tantrum?

You really need to stop. There was no temper tantrum. Chat Icon

This is why you're so unliked on these boards. You never miss an opportunity to make things about YOU and drum up drama. I am not going to continue with you and hijack the whole thread because you don't know how to have an actual adult conversation.

Honestly it hasn’t really been quiet. You just probably don’t follow many of the news sources and pages on social media.

There is always something going on that they are talking about Biden and Harris.

You missed the point. I'm not talking about news sites.

Someone mentioned Biden voters are quiet. I said so are Trump voters and everyone else. On social media among people, it's absolutely less contentious than it's been.

I believe it’s because Biden voters, particularly those who fall in the “anything is better than Trump camp” were hysterical. And I mean that quite literally-acting like spoiled children. Now that they got their way and “peace has been restored” we can all sit back and watch thr country fall into a pit of despair run by a frail, incompetent potato. But hey, no more mean tweets!

Yes this! It was literally hysteria every day and now radio silence...it's hypocritical.

As much as I hated the divisiveness of the past 4 years, one good that came out of it was that people started paying attention and getting involved in politics.

There are so many Americans who are so complacent when it comes to our elected officials which is why we have so many corrupt and inept politicians calling the shots, present administration included. Pay attention not only to presidential elections but more importantly to your state & local officials, their policies and those elections.

This IS a temper tantrum. People DO like me and I really don't care who doesn't like me. One day you will get there :)

This is not a discussion. You didn't like what I said so instead of having a conversation you brushed me off. It's your M.O. with me.

That is not true and I don't believe out country is falling in to despair.
I agree with the rejoining of the WHO
I agree with putting together a plan and funding the distribution of the vaccine
I agree with the CoVid Hate Crime Act
I agree with the rejoining of the Paris Climate accord
I agree with a global minimal corp. tax
Afghanistan - it would be messy but Trump is the one that set the clock ticking and by not withdrawing the Taliban would have started massacring Americans which is stopped due to the treaty and commitment to withdrawal.
I did not like Trump not because of his mean tweets...although his tweets almost started a war...
I didn't think his term was successful because of
Space Force - not sure it's a necessary but I could be proven wrong on this
Tax Cuts and Jobs Act - caused me a lot more in taxes even though I am middle class
SALT
His remarks that indicate he is okay with white supremacy.
The way the international/global leaders felt about him.
Do I think everything that the current administration is doing is great...no. I have critiques of this administration as well.
Inflation was discussed and I, so far, agree with Powell in that it transitory in nature. I also agree that over a decade of free/cheap money has skewed our view on what inflation and an interest rake hike really mean.
You can see things like the price of lumber receding.
A healthy economy produces more demand on supply so prices are going to go up.
Oil has stabilized and the move to renewal energy will continue to keep that in check.
We are seeing job growth
GDP is growing with is going to offset the inflationary concerns.

I don’t have it in me at the moment to respond to each of your bullet points but I don’t agree that most of them were good.
Also, Your liberal talking points referencing the economy are the Left’s spin on a failing economy. Sound counter arguments can be made that would shut them down. At the very least we are going to enter a period of stagflation and that’s thanks to Biden.
