bfp with concerns

On Friday, I got a faint bfp on a fr test, which I think was 9 or 10 dpo. I have taken a test daily since then and the line is still so faint and has not gotten darker at all. You can't even really see the second line in pictures, but it is definitely there. I have also been taking cheapie wondfo tests and there really is no second line at all, which I guess is what is making me really nervous since I thought those tests were the most sensitive. On Sunday, I took a digital which came up as pregnant (took one the day before and was not positive). At this point I am just so confused and concerned that this isn't a viable pregnancy. I have a ds and when I got pregnant with him, the tests were very clear and dark by now. I just don't know what to think at this point..Could I be having a chemical pregnancy? Did anyone experience this? Chat Icon

While that does sound like what happened with my chemical, there are also plenty of ladies who never got darker lines on their tests and they had very successful pregnancies! I know it's easier said than done but give it another few days before you retest and by then you should get a clearer answer. And try not to drive yourself crazy. There is no way to know this early if it is a viable prgenancy. THe darkness of the line is not an indicator of anything. Plenty of people never get a dark line and have wonderful healthy babies.

Make an appt with yoour dr. If you do not have a hitory of losses they will prbably not see you until 7-8 weeks. If you do have a history they might have you coem in for Betas which will give you a better indication but its also no guaranty.

I agree completely. I just had a chemical myself last month and the line never darkened. Don't give up hope. It's still early. Can you schedule an appt with your dr?

Same thing happened with my chemical. Never got dark lines. I think I asked on here or somewhere and people definitely said that they never had dark lines and had a healthy pregnancy. So it could go either way at this point. As pp said, give it a few more days.

bfp with concerns

I peed on FRERs 3 days in a row and the 2nd line didn't get any darker - It was super super faint. After the 3rd test, i took a digital later that day and it said "YES+". Had sonos at 7 and 8 weeks and everything looked great. I did lose the pregnancy at 12 weeks, but you can be pregnant and the FRERs not getting darker after a few days.

Also, I tend to drink the most fluid at night (barely drink anything during the day at work) so maybe that dilutes the morning pee so it doesnt really get darker.

Give it a few more days and retest.... and GOOD LUCK!!

The color of the line is not an indication of whether your are pregnant or whether your pregnancy is viable. Tests differ in how much dye is in them; batches differ; the amount of HCG in your system is affected by how much water you have had. So many variables. I think if you're still getting +s 3 or 4 days later, it's a good sign, especially if you didn't have a + digital and then had one the next day. That means your levels are rising since digitals are not very sensitive.

The only way to know for sure is to go to your dr and have a blood test done.

Good luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks for all the Chat Icon. I took another first response test around noon and the line definitely seems darker. I am starting to think that I might have gotten a bad batch of wondfo's.
