BFing Moms - a question about getting/not getting your period

DD is four months old and I still haven't gotten my period I know this is normal but I'm always thinking OMG, what if I accidentally got pregnant while BFing...I would never know because I'm not expecting my period at anytime. We are being VERY careful so as not to have an "oops" right now but I guess I'm just neurotic. Does anyone feel the same way?

Re: BFing Moms - a question about getting/not getting your period

Yes it scares the heck out of me. In no way am I ready for another baby. 2 under 2 is not for me!!!!

Ive been freaking out lately because I've had random spotting, cramping and some nausea. I'm too afraid to test so I haven't. Luckily my nausea went away but I still can't help but wonder. I had similar syptoms with my dd so naturally I worry. I'm probably going to test just to make sure.

The worry is always there. It seriously could be an episode of "I didn't know I was pregnant". How would you know especially if you didn't have an obvious symptoms?!?! I'm going on bc because otherwise I will live in fear even if we were careful every month.

We were very open to having another baby, so I just tested every few weeks. After the birth of DS, we were DONE so we were VERY careful until I got an IUD placed.

I'm just over 6 months pp and still nothing and believe me, the thought has crossed my mind that I should take a test.
My doctor told me that I probably shouldn't expect it until at least 6 months. My mom never got hers the entire time she nursed (10 months!).

I was the same way. I BF'd for a little over a year and never got AF during that time. Every so often I'd take a pregnancy test just in case!
