BF question.

This may be a stupid question but can you go into a hot tub if you are breast feeding? If you pump or feed first?

Re: BF question.

I was thinking it would make the milk too warm and somehow spoil it??

Can this happen?

lol I never heard of that! I wonder if it's true. haha I would assume that our bodies regulate the milk temp but I have no clue!

Re: BF question.

i would def think you are ok..they recommend hot steamy showers when you are engorged or have clogged ducts....so if anything i would think it would help your production....but if you are too full....you could possibly leak when you get out! Chat Icon

Re: BF question.

Absolutely no problem. You aren't supposed to be in a hot tub for long anyway, but I've been in a hot tub for a while when I was BFing my DD when she was about 4 mos old, no problems.

Re: BF question.

Your body temperature is going to hover around 98.6 no matter what you do to it. In a hot tub, sure it might go up a degree or two but if your body temp quickly went up past 102 or so you'd feel really sick and ready to pass out, right? So... I don't see what kind of damage you could do.
