I loved both episodes. I think I liked the beginning of this series better than I liked the beginning of Breaking Bad. Its great to see them introduce some characters from Breaking Bad and can't wait to see how their story lines go

I don't think so. I think it's a standalone show with its own plot and storyline, but I think it does help to have background knowledge from watching BB (so far we're only two episodes in and there have been a few character cross overs already.) Having watched BB also helps you understand his character better. Better Call Saul is like a prequel to BB (not exactly, but kind of).
ETA: Does anyone think (hope, pray lol) that we'll see Walter White and Jessie at some point? I really hope so! Eventually the story lines would have to cross, no?
