DH and I live in North Massapequa which borders Bethpage. Bethpage residents are zoned for Bethpage, Plainedge, or Island Trees schools. I am in Plainedge schools and I think our school taxes are the highest.

Re: Bethpage

We moved to Bethpage in May. It's pretty big. We are north on the border of Plainview. We really like it so far. It's centrally located, so I feel like getting to most parts of the island isn't a hike. There are a lot of parks and people seem to take care of their homes.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Bethpage

I grew up in Bethpage and we are currently looking to move back. It is a nice town, a real community feeling to it I think. FM if you have any questions.

Re: Bethpage

I'm in Bethpage. We looked all over Nassau and finally came across homes and areas that we liked and could afford.

My taxes are reasonable considering the whole NY tax thing and my neighbors are great.

I'm in the north section and i do most of my shopping in Plainview. in fact, my neighbor in back of me is in Plainview!

I like the more northern section.

There were some nice homes in the paper this weekend.

Re: Bethpage

I personally like the areas of Bethpage that are closer to Plainview (I guess that is considered North Bethpage)...that is where we are currently looking. My parents live in Plainview but have Bethpage as their school district, which is also nice since the area is very nice and the taxes aren't as high as Plainview School District.

In Bethpage, I feel like you may not want to be very close to the train station...just for the noise factor.

The property sizes really vary. I live in an original farm house and the previous owners sold a lot of the property off. I have two side yards but no backyard. I think I'm the exception though. The two homes next to me have nice sized properties..

I like the section North of Hempstead Tpke and just south of Old Country Rd. My house borders Plainview.

I really like Old Bethpage but I find not too many homes for sale and the taxes are considerably higher. The prices on the homes are higher too.

Re: Bethpage

Old Bethpage is a nice area. It is Plainview School District so that is why you may find the taxes to be considerably higher than most areas of Bethpage.

My grandmother lives in Bethpage just south of Old Country Rd. I like the area and I think the taxes are supposed to be lower because of Grumman.

Re: Bethpage

Bethpage taxes are more reasonable than others because of industry. Grumman and Cablevision help.

I think mine is 100x70. It really depends. Some blocks seem to be tighter and others seem to have a lot of land.

I am also in the N. Massapequa area, i have plainedge schools as well, i agree the taxes are a little higher but the schools are excellent.
We looked in bethpage and massapequa, but wanted to stay in the plainedge school district

I saw this house on mls. its in the bethpage, with plainedge schools. Its 499k and it looks really nice, and location is great, midblock not near any main roads so its probably a really quiet street.

I noticed this- we are going to look in Levittown/Wantagh, but I looked at Bethpage too, and the taxes are significantly less.
