Best way to search for a "LIF" in my area?
I live in Virginia Beach and as much as I LOVE this site, it doesn't help me with finding local businesses (i.e photographers).
If you were looking for local LIF like forums in your area, what would you Google?
Thanks!!
ETA: Or a better Idea, LIF could expand to all areas because I have yet to find a more user friendly forum to date

I live in Brooklyn and I have used that site for anything "important" I needed to find.

My sister lives in NC and she belongs to unioncountymommies...I think there are a lot of those "county" mommy websites. I just looked it up...it's part of the mommies network. Here's the website. click me!

City Data.com has local forums.
The LI forum is full of hatefull people but I've heard the other area forums are really nice, more like LIF.
I belong to a few hobby related sites that are international, so its different than LIF but supportive & fun.

You could also look at The Nest and The Bump. These are done by the knot but the nest focuses on after the wedding and the bump on pregnancy and parenting. They would have local vendor suggestions. They have local boards for each city, but some areas get more postings than others. LI gets barely any probably b/c of LIW and LIF, but I had my wedding in Baltimore, and that board on the knot was very busy. I got most of my vendors from their since I wasn't using LI vendors.

Where I live(Raleigh Durham) they have a Triangle Mommies website. That will help. Also have you tried city-data.com..search the forums
