best vacations
i'm at a point in my budget/savings where i can honestly start thinking of getting away.... not now, but i can start planning for it.
here is the question: single-mother of a teenage boy... where on earth can we go????? if it's fun for me, it might not be for him and vice versa
any suggestion is welcomed

Re: best vacations
Im not sure how far you are looking to go and for how long but when I was 13 my mom and I went on a road trip to Myrtle Beach, SC for a week and we both had so much fun. There were tons of arcades and amusement parks for me and fun for my mom.

Re: best vacations
What about a cruise?
they have a teen club and keep them very busy.....while you can lounge at the pool.
Cruises are getting very affordable now.

Re: best vacations
How about Ocean City MD. They have a great boardwalk with a small amusement park and plenty to do in the area.

I've never been to SC so I can't speak on the ultimate destination, but I second the road trip idea! You can seek out stops along the way that interest both of you or alternate something he'd like to do with something you'd like to do, and bond by discovering new places together and spending all that travel time in the car.

Re: best vacations
Florida or a cruise would probably be best. I would skip Disney if that's not his thing. Universal, Wet N Wild and Seaworld are fun teen places.

I agree. A cruise would be relaxing and Islands of Adventure/Universal Studios has great rides
