....the "hide status" feature on facebook for the people you cant "un-friend".

status #2 (5 seconds later) "washing apple"
status #3 (3 seconds later) "eating apple"
(this stupid example is an exaggeration of course but you get my point )

I've been doing this for awhile now especially to those who keep friend requesting me over and over after I deleted them
I also love the block button for all the game updates people post...I really don't care what your score in Bejewlz was today or that you found a little black goat on your farm.

It certainly is great to hide those frequent posters about their whereabouts and what they are having for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Im not sure if it blockes them from seeing your status's, i dont think it does, i think its only on your fb settings.

It does not hide you from them. You click the X to the right of their status in your Newsfeed and click "Hide all by (whatever their name is)". All it does is hide their status updates from your news feed. You can still view their wall, etc if you go to their page manually.
ETA: If you don't want to block ALL of their status, you can block just a specific game or app they use if that is what's annoying.. oh the possibilities
you can also put them back later if you need to with the "Edit Options" link at the bottom of your News Feed Page

if you hide them you also hide their pics.
i dont care about their stats but i still want to be nosy and see their pics.
