Best gate for top of stairs w/ wrought iron railing?
Any recommendations on gates that work well with a wrought iron post? Most stuff I see attaches to a wooden bannister.....but mine is wrought iron - so I'm not sure which will work best.
I'm anxious to get one that's super sturdy - and would welcome any insight.

I hope that someone has figured this out because the gate we got doesn't seem sturdy against out wrought iron rail. We actually got this one because it has a pet door for the cat.

We have wrought iron railings but the end post is wood so I'm not sure it would work for you. We got a metal gate that expands to the width of the stair. We screwed it into the post and will just use wood filler when we take it out.

I called a railing guy to come and make me a gate that attached to the wrought iron railing on one side and the post is drilled into the stairs on the other... I think it cost me 250.00 and I had it in under 1 week

we had it in our old apt and couldnt find anything to fit. we moved to a lower level apt and the people upstairs have a pressure gate up and says it works great. wish i had tried that

We got a gate, forgot the name if a gate & attached it to the wall & when we close the gate over, it gets secured between the first & second railings. It's a retractable gate.
