bereavement fares
Anyone know which airlines are 'best' for this? DH's grandmother passed away last night and he needs to go to Florida either tonight or tomorrow for the funeral.

First I'm sorry your DH's grandma 
I think all the airlines will work with you, when my uncle had to fly in he had pay the fare now then show proof (it was my aunt his sister) and we had to save the obit that listed him
For Florida, I would call American, Jet Blue and Delta - maybe he can use some miles if needed. good luck!

First and Foremost, I am so sorry for your loss.
Second, last time I tried to take advantage of bearevement to and from Florida, I was told that it was being phased out because of how cheap flights now are.
What airport does he need to fly into?

I saw Delta has already phased it out. Annoying!
He has to fly into Fort Lauderdale (FIL lives in Coconut Creek, about 10 minutes north of Boca).

I think he can go into West Palm Beach as well and I believe Jet Blue does JFK to WPB!
Its worth a check out.

Thanks everyone! I just heard from him - he'll be taking AirTran ($240 RT to fly out day of, not bad!), he just has to make a quick stopover in Atlanta.

I don't know much about bereavement fares...but southwest flies from islip to ft lauderdale...I think the special is $79
