benefits for single mom?
I am looking at ny state benefits website but I am confused. I am staying with my parents but I don't want to sponge off of them so I want to see if I can obtain some aid like food stamps at the minimal. But when I follow the questionnaire to see what I'd be eligible for it asks about people in my house - obviously their income and savings would appear that "we" don't need any assistance but I personally have no money - all my money goes to day care. Living here my parents expenses are increasing and I can't help them with that. How am I supposed to receive some sort of aid if they base it where I am crashing? I am trying to get on my feet, please don't judge.

benefits for single mom?
I believe that you can still apply. My aunt applied for benefits while living with my grandmother. I'm not 100% details but she went to social security office and they worked with her on the paper work and walked her through

My friend is going through the same thing. SHe has 2 kids (one with special needs). And when she applied for food stamps, she didn't qualify because she lives with her mom and they counted her income. Even though she doesn't help them at all with anything..
