Re: believing in santa....
This came up today in school, some of my first grade students don't believe...I always tell them that I believe. One of my students came up to me and told me, in a concerned tone, that it was my mom and dad who gave me all the presents. I hope that your son still believes they grow up so fast nowadays.

Re: believing in santa....
I believed until I was about 10-11.
I teach 1st grade and many of my students already know the truth. When it comes up(which it does, EVERY year), I persisently let the children know I believe.
It's hard, especially when they are in school, I think that's when they start talking and things come out.
I hope he believes for a few more years!

oh no, my daughter is 7, I hope she is not questioning yet, but I think by 2nd or 3rd grade the truth is known.

Re: believing in santa....
I think my little brother was like 10! He was afraid NOT to believe. My mother always told us if we questioned her "believe what you want to believe but I wouldn't take a chance" - that pretty much forced us to believe, lol. I don't remember how old I was, but I was more nosey and found the lists of gifts my Mom (aka Santa) bought for us in the cabinet!

Re: believing in santa....
My nephew is 9 (4th grade) and still believes. I know I believed really late, too. My Mom and grandmother just kept telling us "when you stop believing, the gifts stop coming". When I started questioning it, I just used to say to myself "there's no way my mom can afford to buy all this stuff!" Anyway, I'm afraid my nephew is going to find out this year. We'll see.

Somebody told Patrick & anyone who knows me knows my whole Christmas thing is Believe. It broke my heart. But, we told him it's not true. And he is back to believeing again.

Re: believing in santa....
My step son will be 10 in January (4th grade). We think he "knows" but he keeps it going so we do too! He is a very smart kid and probably realizes if he confesses about the tooth fairy etc... he probably won't get the gifts, lmao.
