Being active...

Do you think being active can make the baby one sooner than due date?!? I'm 36 weeks and still working full time as well as doing my everyday errands and housework. Today I did so much! I felt very productive and was just curious if being this active can bring on labor? maybe? LoL I'm dying to meet my Little girl!!

Being active...

I wish it did for me the first time. I worked up to the the day before my induction DD did not want to give up her cozy warm spot. It depends on the person. I hope it works for you

It may be different for everyone. Not my first time around though. I walk every night and was pretty active doing yoga too. I was 5 days late. But the night i went into labor i baked peach scones. Try baking maybe that would help. LOL.

Re: Being active...

Nope, not for me. I was pretty active my whole pregnancy and DD arrived 2 days late. Hang in there because LO will come out when they're ready!

Re: Being active...

Didn't work for me. I walked miles a day, right up to & past my due date, and I still had to be induced 10 days late.

But I've heard it does work for some people, can't hurt to try! Good luck!

Re: Being active...

I'm still working full time, on my feet, and doing all my normal activities and at almost 38w nothing is happening. So definitely don't expect that being active will make your body do anything other than get tired Chat Icon

Re: Being active...

It didn't work for my 1st DC but it worked with my 2nd. I sat and bounced on a big workout ball almost everyday starting in my 3rd trimester and I made sure I was busy all the time. travel, walks, etc. Im not sure if staying active had anything to do with it, or if it was because it was my 2nd DC. I hope it works with my 3rd.

The baby comes when your body is ready. I was very active, going to the gym up until 2 weeks before I had DS. The last 2 weeks I took it easy b/c I was really tired and uncomfortable. DS came 10 days early.

Re: Being active...

Apparently it's not a definite but it worked for me. I work full time, teach dance at two studios, go to school, and now have a 17mo daughter. The day before I delivered I worked 8 hours, went to school for 2 hours, and then taught 2.5 hours. I got home around 10:30 and started contracting 7 hours later. She was four days early. Even if it doesn't speed up labor, at least you're staying busy!

I worked until my EDD, and worked OT that day. Did yoga daily and walked a few miles a day. DD was born at 40w6d

This time i can barely walk. . . and I already have progress at 36w lol so we will see!
