Bedtime Bottle - Where and How early?
Ho much before bedtime do you give the bedtime bottle? Do you give it in DC's room, another room, etc.?
When DC is really tired he wants the bottle right away and falls asleep while drinking it. I give it to him in his nursery while I rock him. I'm trying to work on bedtime and thinking if I should have it earlier or even downstairs where he has his other bottles.

Re: Bedtime Bottle - Where and How early?
Bedtime is usually anywhere from 6:45-7:30. Last bottle is right before bed. We start in the living room and then halfway through move to her room, where we rock. She used to fall asleep taking bottles, but now that she is older (6 months)- she usually flails around in her crib for about 15 min before falling asleep. For us, earlier bedtime works since we are out the door at 7am. If I didnt have to work, I would probably let her stay up later so she slept later.

I always nursed right before bed and bedtime for us is 7pm. DS never fell asleep while nursing, even as a newborn, so I can't offer much help about keeping your LO awake.

Re: Bedtime Bottle - Where and How early?
DD used to fall asleep at the bottle so I started giving it to her before her bath/bedtime routine began. She usually takes 1/3-1/2 of it then and the rest in her room in the dark right before we put her to bed (that's the last part of her routine), but she no longer falls asleep drinking it (she's 6 mos tomorrow) - just settles down before we put her down awake, then rolls around for a bit, and then falls asleep.

Re: Bedtime Bottle - Where and How early?
The bottle is the very last part of our routine (since he doesn't want to be rocked anymore ). He has his book read to him while he drinks his bottle in his nursery. We started the routine at 6 weeks and he's 9 months now. He used to fall asleep during the bottle but stopped as he got older. For the most part (until this past week ), he would get sleepy during the book/bottle but actually fall asleep 1 moinute after being put in his crib. Book and bottle used to be at 7:15 but that's slowly moved to 7:45PM as he's gotten older.

At 7:30, we give it in the living room in the dark, then he gets burped & I walk him around the LR to his bedroom & put him down. He'll be fussy til about 8 -8:15 in his crib.

bedtime bottle is usually between 830-9 and its in DS' room. I rock him while he takes the bottle and then I put him down immediately following the bottle
