Ask your Pediatrician or OB
My Pediatrican said its fine to keep them in there but they must be removed when the baby can roll. So within about 3 months or so
Until then they are fine to keep in.

Re: bedding without bumpers or with?
I plan on using mine for a few months. Then I'll probably switch to a breathable bumper.

Will use the bumpers until the baby starts moving around more. I think it's fine.

Re: bedding without bumpers or with?
I used bumpers with DD, 4 years ago. I am not using them this time because of all that I have read about SIDS.
I feel like I know more this time around and am afraid to take any chances.
I had a very expensive set last time, and didn't really use most of it. I never used the quilt or decorative pillows.
This time I just bought coordinating crib sheets and a dust ruffle.

Re: bedding without bumpers or with?
Of course they look gorgeous. But I am not going to use them. No need to add the slightest bit of concern in my mind for something purely for beauty (since when baby doesn't move, they serve no purpose anyway).

Re: bedding without bumpers or with?
If I get them, I'd only use them until the baby can roll over. I may just buy breathable bumpers instead.

Re: bedding without bumpers or with?
I'm using bumpers, if it seems to be an issue after he/she can roll around, then I'll take them out.

Re: bedding without bumpers or with?
I never used them. To me it was not worth the risk just so the crib and room look nice.
I always used the breathable bumpers and already have them ready for this baby. I also used the breathable sheet and blanket.
I wasn't going to take the chance.

Re: bedding without bumpers or with?
We use ours (DS is 8 months), DH and I talked about taking them out. But DS is a mover and shaker at night, I constantly hear him banging into the crib railings WITH the bumpers on so if I took them off I am sure I would be woken often to an upset and bruised baby. DS has no problem clearing himself from the bumpers so I am not too worried. For us it has nothing to do with aesthetics.
I actually use all the pieces of my bedding, although I don’t use the quilt in the bed I do lay it on the floor for DS to play on…

Re: bedding without bumpers or with?
I'm not using them. When DD starts moving, if she seems like she will be banging into the sides or getting stuck between rails, I will get breatheable bumpers for her.

Re: bedding without bumpers or with?
Actually, you need bumpers when your baby starts to move around. Before that, you really don't since they tend to stay more or less where you put them.
We started out with no bumpers, but when DS started rolling (I think around 4 months) and we htought he would bonk his head or get stuck in the slats. We got the breathable bumpers. They work well so far, and have not fallen on him. Even if they did, they are mesh so he wouldn't smother.
