Bedding Issue- WWYD
So DH and I are VERY picky when it comes to bedding. We have never found a bedding set that we both LOVE.
Well I finally did. Its perfect! It looks great, its the right style (modern), color (red/white), thickness and weight.
I saw it online! Ordered it and got it on Monday! We were so happy!!
Then by wednesday, the seam started to open. I was a little I mean, its brand new and wasn't some bed in a bag. But its fixable.
I read online some reviews that the colors bleed when washed (not drycleaned). However, apparantly if you sit down on it with a wet towel, the colors also bleed. Its a small spot (easily hideable)- but already the colors bled.
So my bedding that is 1 week old already has (1) 1 tear that is easily fixable and (2) a small section where the colors bled.
I love the design of it and the way it feels. I'm reluctant to return it without exchanging it- but am I in for a bunch of trouble.
WWYD?

Re: Bedding Issue- WWYD
I'd exchange it, if you love it that much.
I have a similar situation- I rarely see bedding I like. But I found and bought something, and had it for a few months before putting it on the bed. Of course, the first time I made the bed, I heard rips while pulling up the comforter. In my case, because I bought it a while ago I don't think I can return it, and all the reviews I read after buying the set have said it's not well made. But I love it so much so I don't know if I'd return it.
If it's possible to find reviews of your set, I'd read them and see- maybe you just got a bad one and the rest will be fine.

If it were me, I'd return it. Too delicate for me to be worried about all the time.

I'd return it. I know it's frustrating because you and your DH both like it, but clearly the quality is poor. I'd rather sacrifice on design or weight or color, anything but quality! It's clearly not going to hold up well over time and you'll be looking for a new one again soon anyway.

Return it and get something that is a little more durable. Aside from the color bleeding, a seam shouldn't have ripped within a week, and would only make me think that more will come apart and you'll be left with a shredded comforter!
i know you really like it, but if its not well made and you can't get it wet at all, is it really worth it? i'm picturing a bed covered in rips and tears and you guys still using it because you can't find anything else you like as much

I would return it and either find something else or get something custom made in a fabric you like.

The reviews are telling and so is your own personal acct... I would just return it and go searchng for a new one... Seems like you're going to have the same issue again if you get a new one
