Yes, I borrowed it from my SIL and quite honestly have never found the heartbeat. I'm 41 weeks now and still can't hear it. I find that you hear alot of feedback and the smallest other noises. I'd try to borrow one to see if you like it/can use it before investing.

I never really looked into them, but can you rent a "good" one like they use in the OB's office?

I have one that a friend gave to us - I haven't tried it yet, but she said that she was never able to hear it for her daughter and same thing with my other friend. So who knows if it actually works! I wouldn't let that get you nervous.

I haven't really heard good things about the bebesounds, but I rented a doppler from Heartones.com and it was wonderful! I listened to Christopher's heartbeat every single day. I'm not renting one this time around though, because I'm not nearly as paranoid. Chat Icon

I heard this one is terrible and doesnt work. You're better off renting one (just like the one your OB uses) they work REALLY well. From 9 wks on I could hear my baby's HB any time I wanted to and it was the best piece of mind ever!

I totally agree -

If you are nervous about this pregnancy (and I can relate, I was nervous about mine as well due to a previous M/C) then rent a doppler most definitely. There are a lot of companies that you can rent from. I personally rented from Heartones.com and it was a lifesaver to me to hear my little guy's heartbeat every time I would get a little anxious...

I ordered off heartones too! It was so much fun to use, but I sent it back once the kicks became constant.

Have fun!

Re: BebeSounds Penatal Heart Listener

i got it for 3 months - i'm hoping by then the baby will be kicking up a storm and i will feel a little better and not want to hear it 24 hours a day - lol. if anything i will extend it after that. it was $57 for the three months and i picked overnight deliver so it came to $72 total

Re: BebeSounds Penatal Heart Listener

honestly, I only had it one month. I would do it month by month and see how much you use it.

ETA 3 months is ok, but I wouldnt do more than that.

Re: BebeSounds Penatal Heart Listener

I rented mine for 4 months I think, starting around 10 weeks PG. But in retrospect that was one month too many. I honestly did not use it nearly as much once I hit that 4th month.. so 3 months is MORE than enough..

Once I started feeling the baby moving/kicking, I stopped using the doppler for the most part..

You are going to love it Chat Icon

If you order it for too many months and you return it right away (and notify them of it), they issue you a refund for that month. I rented it for a month too many, because my due date changed from mid August to the middle of July with Christopher and they gave me a refund for the month.
