beautiful moments...
DD and I were cuddling on the couch last night and she just looks at me and says, "Mommy, you are my best friend."
OMG can I just say that I was flying over the moon and the clouds after I heard this.
What an awesome moment that I was for me!
feel free to share yours!

Re: beautiful moments...
When DH asks DD if she loves her daddy- she goes Yes. And then she always adds- And I love mommy too.

beautiful moments...
DD is 17 months and has been saying I love you for little while now, but I always had to prompt her by saying it first. Lately she says it on her own to me and it just melts my heart. Also, at night before bed when I sing to her she puts her forehead against mine so we're nose to nose and says "mama, mama, mama".

She's only 7 months, but I LOVE when she rests her head on me when she's sitting next to me. Just melts my heart. She's so cuddly.

beautiful moments...
my 19m old just learned "big huggies." i say give mommy a big huggy and she stops, gets this bigger-than-the-world smile, and then runs at me full speed and gives me a huge hug.
also when she's sleepy and she sucks her thumb and rests her head on my shoulder. theres something just so sweet and innocent about it.

Re: beautiful moments...
I always called DD "best friend" when I would talk to her.
When she was about 2.5 one day, she turned to me and hugged me and said "besta friend".
I will never forget that day. To this day I repeat her words in her voice, Besta friend and it makes me smile.

Re: beautiful moments...
We had a flood in our bathroom on Tuesday night. I was so upset and crying that my new bathroom was being ruined-and then feeling guilty for crying for something like that after what happened in CT-which made me cry more.
As I'm sitting on the couch sobbing, DS came over to me, and gave me a long hug and told me it was going to be ok, then gave me a kiss. How a 4 year old would know that is exactly what I needed is beyond me.

Re: beautiful moments...
I have angel wings tattooed on my back. The other day my son who is two looked at the angel on the tree when she lit up and spread her wings and pointed at her and said "mommy". He looked at me right after with the sweetest smile.

Re: beautiful moments...
Some are routine but I love them.
Me: I love you AJ: I love you too Me: I love you more AJ: I love you most and you're *my* best friend.
haha Its a thing for us now.
its from tangled (i know) but I added and youre my best friend to the end so now she beats me to it!
But yes the random "I love you mama" moments are the best.
She'll just out of the blue walk up to me and give me a hug and bury her head into my shoulder or thigh then look up at me with those beautiful eyes and seriously stare through me for a moment before saying "I love you mama" as if she's searching my soul to confirm that I understand just how much she means it. I swear it knocks me back. So I get to eye level with her (all while she stares through me) and hold her close to me and look back into her eyes and say "And I love you more than anything in the world" then a moment later I'll smile and say "but.... I love you more" and she'll giggle and say "but *I* love you MOST!" of course I sigh and say aww (like she's beat me in the contest of most love) and laugh.
A few nights ago (still raw from the CT shootings in my mind) I laid next to her bed on the floor and asked if I could stay a few minutes (to cherish her) and she rolled over sleepy and put her hand over the bar on her toddler bed grabbing until I gave her my hand. She pulled it close, kissed it and said "you can stay until the sun comes up, ok?" like she knew she was consoling me! Then she rolled over and fell asleep. While I silently cried.
I honestly do not know what I would do if something ever happened to her. I would truly die inside. She's always so deep so kind. I won't lie I wonder if God is playing some cruel joke on me to give me such a wonderful child. Then I tell myself nah.. its just his way of saying sorry for my own mother. I have the child who loves me the way I wanted to be loved as a mom. I was always afraid I'd fail as a mom and more so as a mom to a little girl. Yet she reminds me randomly, I'm doing alright.
No matter how messy the house is, or used her clothes may be, or anything else material in the world... she loves me. And for that I can and will do anything.
