bday party timing questions
DD's 1st bday party is from 12 - 3. It's at a restaurant with a sit down lunch which will probably go from 12:30 - 1:15ish.
We hired a musician who will play/entertain for 45 minutes.
What time should we have the musician play? And what time do you usually do cake?
I haven't planned a party in years, so am clueless with this stuff.

Re: bday party timing questions
I think about 1 -1:15ish is good. When most people have eaten already. Is it for the children? I'd say closer to 1 then bc kids eat first and fast so this way their parents can eat while the kids are being entertained. THen when the music is done you can do cake.

Re: bday party timing questions
Thanks! I hadn't thought of having the musician play while parents are eating. Many of the kids will be between 1 - 2 y/o though, so the parents will probably need to sit with them. But I'll see what musician thinks.
