First bday party/nap timing

I think** my girls are like the average 11 month old.. they nap around 9 am and then again at 1 pm...
If your naps were similar-when did you start the party? They can be miserable when they are tired.
And then I can be miserable. Chat Icon
*ETA it will on a sunday.. 3 pm would be good, but they go to bed at 6:30ish so meltdown are quite possible at the end of the party...
Does anyone else have this problem?? lol

Re: First bday party/nap timing

My daughter was still taking 2 naps when she turned one.... the party day she took her morning nap and skipped the afternoon one. She was OK, there was so much going on. She even stayed up until 9!

We *thought* we planned DD's first bday around her naps well. At that time she was napping twice a day at 10am and 3pm. Her party was at 1pm. Well, the day of her party she refused her morning nap!!!! She ended up taking a nap during the party and we had to wake her for cake bc it started to get late. You know what they say, the best laid plans...

For DS's 1st bday party last weekend, he took his regular morning nap, and then took his second nap mid party. We had to wake him for cake. We are having another party for him this weekend. In the morning we have our nephews bday party at pump it up so I am hoping DS will nap in the stroller. He'll probably take his second nap during the party again. Or he'll sty awak at pump it up and he'll immediately go down for a nap when we get home and get 2 rs in before his party starts

ETA: both parties start at 2:30.

I've been worrying about this too. We booked our dds party for 1-4 in the hopes that she'll take her morning nap and then make it until 4 before she takes her afternoon nap. Somedays she's wide awake and happy from 1-4 and other days she needs a nap at like 2 or 3, so we're just hoping for the best.

my DS bday party starts at 1, he varies with his naps though, I am hoping that he takes a morning nap so he is not cranky. It is what it is though!

This happened to us as well! DS always takes morning naps but of course the day of his party, he wouldn't! He wound up falling asleep in his highchair eating!

DD takes a 9am nap for an hour and then a 1230-1pm nap for about 2hrs. Her party is at 12. Ill try to push back her morning nap a bit and just bring the stroller and if she gets tired she can take a catnap in there. Its a party...all schedules go out the window. Im sure she'll be fine.

My oldest missed half her party because she fell asleep. Chat Icon

I let her sleep for an hour and a half or so, then woke her for cake. Party was at our house

Re: First bday party/nap timing

We had our twins party at home. They went down for their second nap at 2. I started the party at 2. So I put them down and then greated their guests. They were up an hour later as usual.
