BCP & Antibiotics

I am supposed to start my BCP today in preparation for a lascaropic surgery in a week and a half. My RE wants me on the pill to ensure that no follicles develop before the surgery.

Yesterday I came down with a really bad sinus infection and I just started taking an antibiotic. The medication says it could interfere with the effectiveness of BCP.

I am not able to get in touch with my RE to ask if I should still start the BCP today or if we should hold off on the surgery until next month.

What would you do in this situation? TIA

I would start it---- I was on antibiotics while I took my BCPs. I didn't think anything of it- because we weren't using them as protection to not try to get PG- we're using them to supress my ovaries. I'm going to mention it to my dr when I see him next week but I was on the bcps for 21 days (I finish it tonight! ) so I think since it was only a few days that it shouldn't affect it.

I just remembered that when i was on BCP's last month my cute little niece gave me her cold and I wanted to take something but was afraid. And when I went in for monitoring the RE said at this point I can take anything, even antibiotics. So, you should be fine.
