Bathroom remodel
Not sure if this is a dumb question...but if we have someone redo our bathroom, but buy all of the fixtures ourselves....where do we buy? Just at Lowes or Home Depot?? Or are there other stores that have more selection?
Thanks!

Bathroom remodel
I bought the tub from HD, vanity from Consumers, marble vanity top from RAI Marble in Garden City Park, and faucets/sinks/light fixtures from Wayfair.com and Bellacor.com. I wasn't a big fan of the limited selection of fixtures at HD and Lowes. You can also go into Blackwell's showroom to get some ideas, they have a larger selection but I found them to be pricey.

Bathroom remodel
We got our vanity, sink and sink faucet on line, tile from 2 different tile stores, granite from Alcamo and shower system from Blackman (although Blackman's was a HORRIBLE experience and I would definitely NOT recommend).

Re: Bathroom remodel
We purchased our toilet and tub and shower head from Home Depot. We got our vanity from Consumers (came with porcelain top). We got our floor and wall tile from Prada Tile (Jericho Typke - New Hyde Park). We got our sink faucet through overstock.com. Over the sink mirror from Home Depot. Concealed medicine cabinet (looks like a framed photo) concealedcabinet.com. Lighting from elements. Extra little bits (shelf, towel bar, etc.) Lowes. Towels and garbage pail from home goods.

Bathroom remodel
We bought a lot from Faucetdirect.com. we also purchased from Green Art plumbing in Freeport. the actual faucets at greenart seemed pricey, but the tubs and shower base seemed OK.
I honestly don't like the saleswomen in these type of places. they seem to have an atitude about them and act like its normal to spend $500 a sink faucet. Blackman in Wantagh wouldn't give us the time of day, apparently looking under 40 makes you not worth their time. Blackman in bethpage was better, but they still didn't have faucets on display that were in what I consider the reasonable catagory.
All told between our bathrooms and kitchen we were probably into the fixtures $5K, so its not like we were doing a small project either.

Re: Bathroom remodel
Thanks everyone! That is really helpful. We checked out Consumers last weekend. Do they help with the design process? We saw people sitting at the desks, but didnt want to wait to speak wiith a sales person. (We're not looking to remodel for a few months, but I'm anxious to look & get ideas!) Also do they have contractors if you buy from them or they just sell and thats it? Thanks so much! I'm new to the remodeling process!
