Bangs
I have an appt for a trim this weekend.
My hair is thick and straight and I usually go for a Jennifer Aniston type style with the long layers but it ends up being one length again as it grows out.
Anyways, I am thinking of changing things up since I feel like I have had the same hair style forever.
What do you ladies think about bangs?
I've been admiring these cuts but feel I am immediately going to regret it if I do something so drastic.......

Re: Bangs
I get bangs every 2-3 years and ALWAYS regret it. In my mind, I LOVE bangs - they look awesome on so many people. When I get them, I look like a little kid. When I look back on pics on me with bangs, I look okay, but I am never in love with them when I have them. They are so much more maintenance than no bangs and I can not be bothered with the upkeep.

Bangs
When I got bangs a few years ago, I loved them and still do. Plus, I got sooo many compliments about them. I know it can be a "drastic" change, but if you don't like them, they do get long enough to "blend in" pretty fast

Re: Bangs
Get them!! I LOVE bangs, but my hair is wavy, they curl up in the humidity and just look weird. But, if I had straight hair, I'd get them in a second.

Re: Bangs
In case you want to try them before you chop, I remember seeing this video.
Michelle Phan Bangs
Or if you google "fake bangs" you can just buy them to try.
I have been toying with doing the same thing and want to "try it before I buy it"

Re: Bangs
Usually I immediately regret the decision to get bangs, but I've been keeping up with mine lately and I'm loving them.
I have pretty fine hair and it's usually cut in long layers. I have the side swept bangs on one side- it just adds something that I didn't have before. Even more mundane hairstyles like ponytails or buns look cuter because I can do something with my bangs.

everytime I get them they end up in a bobby pin for months and then I want to do it all over again lol I say go for it, worst case you clip them back and then they grow in.

Re: Bangs
The one and only time I got bangs I regretted it and will never do it again. I liked them when I got the for about a week. They were too much maintenance for me and I hated to grow out phase.

This! I don't feel like a mess with a ponytail at work with the side swept bang ... it actually looks like a style rather than just being lazy!

Same here. I have a five head. I tried to grow them out once and I hated every second on it and really tried, but in the end, I had the bangs cut again.. Growing them out allowed me to have them redefined so they weren't as chunky on my head.

Re: Bangs
I love the way bangs look, but they are super high maintenance. I had to trim every 2 weeks and blow them out every morning. It's a commitment!

Re: Bangs
I actually decided against.
Way too drastic and I don't have time or $$$ to deal with something that is so high maintenance.
Thanks again ladies.

Good move. I got bangs in March right around St Patty's Day and hated them 4 days later.

Re: Bangs
I get them once or twice a year. I have a love/hate relationship with them. I say get them you can always pin them while you grow or do like a side sweep bang which is what I do with them while I grow them out.

Ditto. I end up clipping them back and hate the growing out process.

I feel like bangs are a great idea until I have them. Then it's a year of regret!
