Ballpark, anyone know what it would cost to fix...UPDATED. Ouch...
a very small ding with about a 1-inch scratch in a car door? I hit someone's door before when getting in my car- the door just got away from me- and hit the person next to me. It's an older car- about 2002 or so, I'd guess.
Anyway, I gave her my info and offered to pay for it. I tried to take a pic with my phone but the battery was too low. Just want to make sure that I have an idea of what to expect.
8/13 So the woman finally got an estimate- $350.00 I guess I went into the wrong line of work.

I'm not sure but kudos to you for doing that. I can't tell you how many dings in my 2 yr old car that I have that were caused by other people. That was nice of you to fess up and offer your info. Two times I was there when someone hit my car and made a small ding each time and I could tell felt really really bad about it so I let it go, dealing with insurance and stuff is terrible, I understand but it was nice that they fessed up. I'll ask around though for you.

I had a dent (no paint missing) removed from my car by one of those dent removal services. Cost $125. If there is repainting involved it may be a little bit more.

I'm guessing about $200. Bc my son made a scratch on someone's car last year on his bike and it was a little bigger and cost a little more to repair.

That's A LOT. I know of a a high end body shop in glen cove that gave me a quote of $400 to fix/paint my WHOLE bumper (I have an Acura MDX). Did you see the estimate?

$350 sounds like WAY too much for a small ding. If you haven't seen the estimate, I would absolutely ask to see it.

Thanks for the feedback ladies- I thought it sounded high too. Anyway, I ended up calling my insurance. I haven't had a claim in almost 15 years and figured that these are the things insurance is for and now I don't have to do anything else or worry that I am being taken for a ride. I am curious to see how much it actually costs to fix.
