Backing up pictures in computer?
What type of backup do I need to store the pictures on my computer in case it crashes?? TIA

you can do off site like carbonite.com or get an external hard drive.

In addition to an external HD, I also upload all of my pictures to Shutterfly and once a year I copy all of my pictures to a cd.

I have an external HD and I copy to dvds. But I am planning on doing an online server, too.

I upload my photos to kodakgallery & then we back up to an external hard drive. Actually we have two of them, one is kept in my office.
External hard drives DO fail so having an extra backup is the way to go.

My DH is a little anal about backup, we have a tape drive that he backs up to as well as 3 external hard drives - one is kept in the house, one in the car and the 3rd in the safety deposit box.
He backs up to the tape drive weekly and the external HDs monthly.
