Backing up your computer [POLL]
How oftend do you or your spouse back up your computer?
I ask because one of my hard drives is failing. I usually back up all my digital photos (of which I have over 200gb worth now) onto an external USB hard drive we have. Then I burn them to DVD. I also have them on my website.
But this weekend, I ran out of room on my 120gb hard drive! 
So I did some looking around and found another external hard drive, getting good reviews at CNET.com, 750gb of space  and it cost less than $200.!!
It even comes with software that you can setup to automatically backup your computer regularly.
Really, with all this stuff available, for not a lot of money, there's no excuse not to do it is there?
When I think of the years and years of family photos, of the baby pictures that would be forever lost if I didn't back it all up, it scares the heck out of me.

It is extremely important to back things up.
External hard drives are so important to have.
Usb Flash Cards
Or
Just burning Cd's filled with Music, Data or anything else you may want to back up.

I have had too many computers crash on me so I do it at LEAST once a week - I have a portable external hard drive 250 GB

Same here - I only had to lose partial data once to learn that lesson! ETA..I also store all my photos aon shutterfly.

I only back up my pictures. That is the only thing worth anything to me. I haven't done it in a while though.

I just back up photos, and scanned documents. They are on my home PC hard drive, home external drive, laptop, company HD, and company external drive.....  I usually update all of them after a major photo session, which is fairly often.

with my recent MacBook crash I have LEARNED the hard way that I MUST backup!! I have some things on CDs right now...but I'm going to buy a flash drive this week. My tech person at school says I probably don't need an external hard drive since my files aren't terribly huge.
