Back from my Glucose Test
So far-- my most efficient appointment to date. I went in, drank the stuff-- waited to be seen. Then my blood was drawn and I was outta there! Fastest trip yet (I usually have to wait for a long time regardless of what I am doing).
Anyway, my stuff was like COLA... It looked and tasted like coke. When I got to the bottom, it was a little sweeter, but no biggie. I actually like flat soda.
I should get my results tomorrow or Thursday... until then I wait with anticipation. Oh, and everything else is good too with my check up. Now I go every three weeks!!!

Mine's next week, and this is what they gave me. It's sitting in my fridge. I'm NOT looking forward to it, as I'm not used to sweet drinks.

based on posts on here talking about the test-- I expected something super sweet-- but, it really was not at all. I mean, it was sweet, but nothing over the top.

Thanks Randi. I guess I'm just nervous about drinking it and being affected by the sugar and then having to drive to the Drs. office. My appointment is at 8:30, but I have to drink the drink at 7:30 per the instructions they gave me.
Jess - I think it depends on the Drs. office. I've read here that some places just give you what they have the day of. In my case, I was given the bottle at my last appointment, told to put it in my fridge and drink it an hour before my appointment. They didn't give me a choice in flavors, just whatever the nurse gave me.

Jess - I think it depends on the Drs. office. I've read here that some places just give you what they have the day of. In my case, I was given the bottle at my last appointment, told to put it in my fridge and drink it an hour before my appointment. They didn't give me a choice in flavors, just whatever the nurse gave me.
If your nervous about driving after drinking the stuff.. why not go their earlier drink in car and bring some magazines with you and just relax in the car for an hour and read... this way you dont take the chance of driving and having a reaction.

I drank the stuff there, but then drove home in this pissing down rain on the flooded FDR and West Side Hwy-- you'll be fine!!! It did not affect me AT ALL.
As for choice of flavors, they just had a cup of what looked like soda waiting for me after I did my urine sample. No choice-- I didn't even realize it was for me til they handed it to me.

I might do that, I've actually thought of that. But then that means having to leave my house at 6:45am! I'm usually just getting up at that time!
