Back from my 2nd anatomy scan UPDATE
I had a follow up scan today at 28 weeks to be sure there was no fluid in the kidneys. The kidneys turned out to be fine, but the baby is measing small and the dr is concerned and seems to think my placenta is not functioning properly and is not delivering the nourishment the baby needs. I was hooked up to the monitor to monitor the hb to be sure it was consistent. Thankfully the hb, fluid levels and baby's movements are fine. I needed a steroid shot and now need to be monitored every other day to be sure the hb is consistent and receive steroid shots to develop the lungs. It doesn't look like this baby is going to stay in til May. As soon as they see something is off, they will deliver the baby. Needless to say I am terrified of this baby being born so premature. My next sono will be at 30 weeks. I am praying the baby gains good weight by then and continues to gain. Please stay cooking LO
Thank you all so much for the prayers and well wishes. After two trips to the hospital for monitoring and steroid injections, baby is still cooking and going strong. I have another appt at the hospital tomorrow for monitoring and a scan to check the fluid levels. From that point, I will discuss with the doctor where we go, but it will be close monitoring and resting. Not on bedrest, but I have to put all my energy to this baby. I am feeling confident that this baby is a strong fighter and she/he will be in there for a while longer.
On another note I am seeing more of LIJ than I ever wanted and I have to say the new wing is very nice

As scary as it is, it's good that your doctor is being proactive about this. I hope everything is ok.

Re: Back from my 2nd anatomy scan
i had a similar issue with my baby measuring behind and having low fluid. i didnt find out until i was in the hospital at 32w with pre-eclampsia. the hospital nurses and doctors kept doing sonos and then throwing around words like "placental disease" and i was scared out of my mind. i delivered 5 days later due to the progression of pre-e to HELLP syndrome. my baby weighed 3lbs 8oz at 33w1d which is equivalent to a 31w weight. so towards the end she was def growth restricted and it really was best that she was delivered. we got the steroid shots a few days before I delivered and it did wonders, she came out breathing and was only on the vent/C-PAP for a day or so. she spent a month in the NICU basically just to gain weight. she's is 9m now and is absolutely perfect. i remember how scary all of that was like it was yesterday, it was really traumatizing. def FM me if you have any questions!!
also please remember that sonos aren't a perfect science. the weight can be off a bit and sometimes drinking more fluids can increase the amniotic fluid. i that your next sono brings better news!!
