Back from internal #2
OK so I finally got my doctor to give me some info (even though he doesn't believe in disclosing it)
I'm zero dilated
50% effaced
weight estimated at 7 - 7.5 lbs (with the tape measure not sono)
I don't think little Hannah wants to come out any time soon

re: the measurement- the morning I gave birth the doctor saidt he same thing- "big baby- 7 pounds"
meanwhile- she was under 6 pounds.
so they are bad guessers....

You never know, as i replied on your post on parenting. I was only 1cm and 60% effaced when i went into full blown labor and had DD the next day.
You never know!! ONly baby knows~

As other posters said, you never know. My SIL was only 2 cent. dilated and 50% effaced at her appointment and had her daughter 10 hours later!

Don't dispair, as other posters said, only Hannah will decide when she wants to come out
As far as size, my doc told me on Friday that the baby would be about 8 1/2 lbs. When he came out Sunday at 1:50 am, he was 7lbs, 4oz. The weight is really just a guess!

He said they are all estimates and really don't mean much so he doesn't want me to worry about going late or think I'm going early, etc.
He pretty much said the weight is based on a tape measure and he can't determine if there is extra fluids in me or if its a big baby etc.
He also noted that you can be dilated and walk around for weeks or have none and go into labor that same day.
he just feels that too much information sometimes makes you crazy when it's not necessary.
I see his point and agree, however its just more fun to know

Well, you ARE effaced - so heading in the right direction!
At least you don't have to be paranoid about dropping the baby out in a grocery store.

Jodi , anything can happen! I was dialating pretty well but otherwise showing no progress (no effacement, etc).. then bam went into labor the very day my doctor set up my appointment to be induced 
And I was told DS would be a 9+ pounder, and he was only 7 lbs, 4 oz..
