I'm sorry, but I think 2 is good! I would be happy with that number.
I'm hoping they are two great eggs and they both fertilize. Did they discuss a 2-day transfer at all?
No talk of that. Cornell does 3 day transfer because they feel that is the natural way the embryos would act.

I know 2 people personally that got pregnant after a 2 day transfer, because they could never make it to three. One of them being someone you know also, Sandra, from Dr. B's office. After 5 failed IVF attempts she had a successful 2-day transfer. It’s worth a shot to talk about it, if the embryos don't look like they will make it, god forbid
Either way, best of luck to you !!!

Re: Back from ER
I spoke to my doc already about it and although they know it has worked before their policies and research support the 3 day transfer. I had a 2 day with Dr. B and it didn't work. Not saying that was the reason because clearly I have other issues.

I understand. I did have concerns about doing a 2-day for my last transfer but Dr. B. feels very strongly that it is the way to go for over 40s. My obsession with Google has turned up quite a few success stories though. I do wonder if the 3-day is better because at least you know the embryos have made it that far. It's a cr@p shoot either way!

Re: Back from ER
Oh Susan.....stay strong! I know exactly how you feel right now...
My 1st IVF at Cornell, Dr D retrieved 16 eggs and ONLY 1 fertilized!! yes, out of 16 only 1 did...
It made it to Day 3 and I got pregnant from that lonely embryo....it was a 7 cell....unfortunatly I lost ithe pregnancy at 6 weeks but it was due to insufficient E2 (from that cycle we learned I needed E2 support from patches)
It can happen!! GL

Not at all! I think numero uno's a keeper!!
And the fact that I've nicknamed your little embie just shows how emotional I am as well

Did one of the two fertilize? I don't think you are wrong to put all your hope in one embryo - you have to stay positive after all.
I only had one good embryo on my last cycle and I still have the pic of that 4-cell embryo in my bedside table. I bonded with it the minute it was transferred.
Praying that this guy is really, really strong.

I totally understand you feeling attached. I felt a bond with my two cute little side-by-side follies at my last check before my IUI. I can't even imagine how I would feel about something that fertilized!
