back again

Hi Ladies,

I was on here a while ago. didn't post too much, but did get a lot of advice just from reading.

Last time, TTC got so frustrating it took a toll on both of us and we decided to take a break. We tried for over a year then with no success.
Lately, DS has been talking about babies, so we decided to try again.
Started temping and will be using OPKs to try and track better.

any suggestions to help with this? anything you have heard of that may help?

hoping my stay here is short and that you ladies show up on the pregnancy board soon!

If you were trying for over a year it's probably best to go see an RE.

can't afford an RE. my insurance doesn't cover any of it and don't have that kind of money to spend.

thus, asking for what worked and what didn't for ladies on here (other than RE)

Have you spoken to your GYN? He/she might be able to give you some good ideas. Did you use a Fertility monitor or OPK? I would start there if you haven't used those already.
There are different plans online. Deanna's plan is one I hear about a lot on here. I know what you said about an RE, but a consult shouldn't be any more than a specialist co-pay. Some tests can be done easily and are not expensive.

Good luck.

I'd agree with this. Are you sure you don't have any coverage? Many people aren't covered for procedures, but testing is covered. It's probably worth at least getting a basic work up to make sure all your hormone levels are correct, and your husband doesn't have any sperm issues. If you tried for over a year, something may be off, and it could be very easily fixed, you never know!

I was going to say the same thing. At the very least, you should look into testing. The price of testing might be worth it - you never know what issues there could be that continuously trying won't get you anywhere :(
If testing comes back normal - then I'd just keep ttc.

I agree with this. Plus, personally acupuncture really made a difference for me. But she worked with my doctors and recommended some testing that I was able to do with my PCP/gyno. If your insurance doesn't cover an RE (which actually surprises me, they likely say no IF coverage, but will actually cover an RE, which is the way my insurance is structured), then they likely won't cover acupuncture (mine didn't either), it was $65/week.
