Re: babysitter interview questions
What is your past experiences with a toddler?
Have you taken a cpr class?
How do you plan on keeping a toddler entertained all day?
What are your discipline methods? (time out, talking it out, redirecting)
Do you have experience with potty training? If so, explain.

Re: babysitter interview questions
Ask her what her experience is babysitting (ages of children).
Is she CPR certified?
How would she handle an emergency?
How she would structure the day?
What would she do if your son was doing something he shouldn't? (redirect/time out, etc.)
I would also tell her what your day w/ him consists of; when he eats, etc.
Be firm w/ her about things like the TV (how much you want him watching, if any)
Your thoughts about going on walks, to the park, backyard, etc.

CPR trained
Clean driver's license (in case she drives your child somewhere)
If they have been fingerprinted
Previous employer references.
I work with groups of kids and have had jobs that asked me this stuff.

Re: babysitter interview questions
How would they deal with constant screaming, crying, defiance and just general annoyance?
I say this is a mom of a 2 1/2 year-old.

Re: babysitter interview questions
I love to casually ask about the potential nanny's family, her husband, her children, what they do if they are grown, etc. etc. just to hear her talk about her family. That way I found out that one of the candidate's son was in jail for something bad... Pretty useful stuff to learn...
Also, I alway asked about their education, what they did back in the homeland, etc. etc. I always like to learn about potential nanny as person.
