baby's first christmas
so my dd will only be 3 months. she doesnt need anything.. but i want to buy something as a keepsake for her to always have.
any good/unique ideas?

For dd1s first Hanukkah I felt the same but wanted her to have something sentimental. We got her a snow globe (Hanukkah themed) and I bought the same one for dd2s first Hanukkah this year.

Something with a handprint or footprint would be nice. For Halloween my DD's daycare did a footprint of hers in white paint on black paper and made it into a "ghost", i absolutely loved it. When DS was around 16 months old his babysitter did a molding of his hand and turned it into an ornament and its on our tree each year.

We do an ornament with a handprint & do a precious moments ornament.
Kids love it & look for it every year!

I found this really cool vendor on Etsy that will turn the hospital baby blanket (or any baby blanket) into a stuffed animal. It's really cool and definitely a keepsake! I can get you the vendor if you are interested.

I'm getting my DD a sterling silver bracelet with her name engraved on it. I also got her a really pretty ornament from a vendor I've been using for years. I'm going to try and make her something as well- probably just an ornament this year :/

what about something with her hair. Im not sure how much she has, but perhaps you can snip a tiny bit and have it placed in a keepsake, a necklace etc.

DH bought our daughter a nice set of hardcover leather-bound childrens classics (little women, secret garden, etc). Right now they are on display on a high bookshelf in her room, but someday she will be old enough to read them and pass them down.

I also cut out part of their announcement (the date, weight etc)

DD was almost a year old for her first Christmas last year. I did a handprint ornament and the Swarovski Baby's First Christmas with her picture in it.

I did a baby ornament with her name, birth details to hang on the tree. Now, each year, my DD looks for that and she gets to hang it on the tree.

I bought each of my girls the holiday Barbie the year they were born. My 1st DD's year it was a gorgeous Cinderella Barbie with a glass slipper ornament. They come beautifully displayed in a big box. 10 and 8 years later, I never let they play with them...lol! They are displayed on top of their shelves in their original boxes.

She did a custom listing for me -- never did a Peter Rabbit one before. Then, she posted it on her site to sell in the future so the one listed and shown in the link above is my son's actual growth chart.
She sketched it herself and hand painted it. I asked for the quote from one of my son's favorite children's books "I love you Forever"...
Highly recommend. If you search the rest of her page you'll find all sorts of styles and themes. Or you can have her do a custom one. HTH.
