Baby swim lessons
I got DH Daddy and Me swim classes for his birthday because he loves the water so much and wants to share that with DS. His classes start Tuesday at Saf-T-Swim. For those of you who have done this before with a baby did you put them in a swimsuit or just a swim diaper? I went to Target and BRU to find a swimsuit and they don't come that size in those stores... I would need a 3-6 or 6. I know Gap has them that small but I don't want to go out and purchase one just for this because that won't fit him anymore over the summer. Do I need it, does everyone else show up in a bathing suit or just a swim diaper?

Re: Baby swim lessons
according to their rules, all babies must be in a swim diaper and a swim diaper style bathing suit (read the paper you signed). They sell them at Saf-t swim for $15. You definitely need a swim diaper AND a bathing suit for sure. They don't check to see if the bathing suit is the correct kind.

Re: Baby swim lessons
You need both a bathing suit (with a cloth diaper built in) and a swim diaper.

Re: Baby swim lessons
When we did safety swim the huggies swim diapers were a no no. We had to buy the bathing suit from there with the swim diaper built in. Basically a plastic diaper thing that holds everything in.

Re: Baby swim lessons
I prefer the disposable swim diaper with a thirsties diaper cover on top. Then I just put a bathing suit on top.

Re: Baby swim lessons
Ahh good to know. I didn't sign a paper, I got all of the info over the phone then paid over the phone. They never mentioned anything about the special swim diaper. Is saftswim the only place to get this thing or can I get it anywhere else cheaper? Thanks so much everyone

Re: Baby swim lessons
All places are supposed to follow it. It's the nys dept of health that requires 2 swim diapers...you don't need to use one of theirs they just sell them too. Nth!

Re: Baby swim lessons
Buy Buy Baby sells the bathing suits with the swim diaper attached, as well as the swim diapers. You can use a 20 percent off coupon and since pampers makes the swim diapers, you can use a pampers coupon for those.

Re: Baby swim lessons
I usually get my swim diapers from Target or the supermarket - they are similarly priced to BBB and BRU.
Then, I just put on a regular bathing suit - they all seem to have the cloth diaper built in.
You can get more "high tech" bathing suits though.
