Baby Sprinkle...thoughts
Its a secret....but I kind of found out becuase Buy Buy Baby sent a letter home thanking me on my baby registry.... I never created a baby registry...
I'm expecting #2 in October and DS is going to be a big brother to a baby sister! So...its a different gender.
I had absolutely no clue, but I checked buybuybaby and saw a shower date and everything! It is so thoughtful and I have no clue who is hosting this...and I do not want to ask because I do not want to ruin the surprise. Could this come off as sort of obnoxious to guests? I have no clue who is being invited and I know that sprinkles are usually more intimate and gifts consists of clothes and diapers and all, nothing too big. However, on the registry I saw a double stroller, swing, and infant tub... I mean, I was worried about purchasing a bunch of new clothes bc nothing I have from DS was neutral and I gave all his clothes to my SIL who had a boy.
The idea is such a thoughtful one! But...does this come off as being a bit obnoxious? Thoughts? I can't seem but worry and be somewhat embarrassed, should I just sit back and enjoy?

Re: Baby Sprinkle...thoughts
I personally dont agree with sprinkles... especially if the babies are close together and are of the same gender...
I am currently pg with DC#2 and would not want one...
But in your situation... you did not plan it, nor ask for it...and its intended to be a surprise so I would just go with it...

Re: Baby Sprinkle...thoughts
I think in your case it is personally fine. I would think anyone that is invited knows you completely have no idea. I want my kids all super close so I would never want one. I know a girl that has a seven year old girl and had her first super young so really didn't have a lot. Now she is pregnant with number 2 and its a boy and they are throwing her a shower with close family and close friends. I think it is fine. I would have been getting a gift anyway. At least she will be more prepared.

Baby Sprinkle...thoughts
My kids are only 16 months apart. I do have one dd and one ds. At my shower for dd, I had over 100 guests (big family). For my ds, my mom had surprise sprinkle for me. It was only my mom, my mil, my sisters, sil, nieces, my dd and our aunts. So about 25 people. It was really nice and everybody had a good time. There were no games at the sprinke, just a nice luncheon. There's nothing wrong with celebrating a baby on the way. Have fun!!

Thank you, it is a surprise...I wish I never found out because then I wouldn't have to worry about it! But as long as its super small and just close family and friends, I guess its no biggie. I'm sure people were going to buy little gifts anyway. But now I don't expect anything when the baby arrives.

My kids are 5-6 yrs apart & I've had shower/sprinkle for each one. My friends asked if they can give me one for my last baby. Smal quaint & very sweet. I did register for each.

This might sound rude but if people do t want to buy you "another baby gift" they will RSVP no to the sprinkle ... Sit back relax and enjoy the fact that someone did this for you
