Baby socks? BTDT moms??
Will the baby need a lot of socks? I realized I have 1 pair of baby socks..do I need to go get more? How many baby socks do I need?
As I type this, I hear how ridiculous it sounds...

I didn't start to really need socks until he was 3 months. I mainly put ds in one piece outfits. I think it really depends on how you plan to dress the baby/clothes you have. You definitely don't need a ton of socks early on!

I used them in the beginning - I had one pack of Trumpette socks (6 pairs) that I used. DS got a lot of cute 0-3 outfits that didn't have feet and I wanted him to wear them. He was also born in December though, during a frigid winter, and we have a cold house.
Once it got warm - he didn't wear socks anymore.
I had some other socks as well and they never stayed on his feet - it was so frustrating!!!

I think it depends on when you are due. I had DS at the end of May and we didn't need any socks until towards the end of the summer really. We either used one piece outfits or he went sockless.
But I would say about 7-10 pairs should be good. Luckily socks fit for a while, at least the ones I have. We've been using them for at least 6 months now.

I bought a 6 pack of plain white socks from carter's already --- we don't know what we are having. But I swear as soon as this kid is born I'm going out and buying them all the cute socks I've been seeing --- ballerina ones for girls and converse ones for boys! It's one of the things I've been dying to buy!
But honestly they do wear the footsie pajama things a lot in the beginning, they are just so easy. But you do want at least several pair for when you put them in 2 piece outfits that don't have footies on them! My favorite socks were the carter's ones --- they stayed on the best!
