baby no name...lol
can your baby come home from the hospital with out a name? i know years ago you could.. but im wondering if its still possible!! We really just cant agree. i tried the whole compromising thing.. and then i even got to the point of saying.. You get to name the child if its a boy i should get to name this baby since its a girl... then i even went as far as saying.. ok thats enough.. I Get 2 votes you get one since theres 2 of us and one of you he didnt like that one very much!! i think once shes here he just wont care but im worried its going to be a huge arguement when the time comes to reall yhave to name her and im worried!

I don't think they can leave the hospital without a name. They can be nameless for a few days but they can't leave before a birth certifcate is made up.--Atleast this is what I understood to be true.
Good Luck with the name

Awww I'm sorry...maybe the name will come to you when you finally see your LO.
I'm going through a similar thing w/ DH, but it's been over the boys name. The name I really DH thinks is too girly...Julian. But any other name I suggest he's been ambivalent about.

Nope. Baby must be named before you leave the hospital. Both the paperwork for social security and the BC have to be submitted by the hospital.
Apparently it is a Homeland Security issue now

the name i love is not very common and a bit old fashion which is why i think my DH isnt too fond of it.. he said yesterday "its growing on me" so thats a good thing.. im not totally against the names he likes i just like mine better.. but like one of you ladies siad when we see her we just may say "this is the perfect name for her" im banking on that!!

Re: baby no name...lol
We too have some choices floating around (actually they are written on note papers taped to our office door!) and we really do not have many discussions on the matter of a final boy/girl choice.
DH told my friends a couple weeks ago that we may just wait until the baby is born to see which one fits.... hope it's one of my choices!!!
Maybe you can do that... we were having name "issues" and not really conversing well about it. I read about a tip of writing names you like and names he likes on pieces of paper and taping them on a wall where you both look at. Just having those papers up has stimulated some pleasant amicable baby name chatter. So maybe you can give that a try. At least to narrow down a top few choices.

I'm not having this dilemma, but just curious, is this rule new?
I thought people could name them later but its a big hassle going through more paperwork, courts etc

I love the choices you gave him by the way! The best was you get 2 votes b/c there are 2 of you. That was great thinking and something I would ahve totally said too. I'm dying to know the name you want so bad. FM me if you care to share.

I am right there with you! DH and I still can't decide on names I began wondering if Baby Uh Oh is going to end up on her birth certificate (what her big sister calls her) Each week the front runner that we like all of a sudden doesn't seem like it would fit or we lose interest in it. We do have a few, just nothing we LOVE - kwim?

LOL... we only named our children as a way to leave the hospital. We could not agree and my husband still hates the name.

That stinks! In the UK you have 42 days to register your baby, so thats 42 days to try names out! My friends daughter wasn't named until she was about a month old!
Good luck with finding a name! I say you get to choose!

When i had my DD i didn't decide on the name until the day i was leaving. Don't worry, it will come to you.
Once you see your little one's face you will definitly be able to find a name that fits

We will be having this issue. We cannot agree on a name. Everyone hates the name my husband likes....including me! I think the baby has to be named before you leave the hospital. Hopefully we will come up with one!

Re: baby no name...lol
Boy does this sound familiar! DH and I had the same issues. I wanted to talk about it all 9 months and he wanted to make a "game time" decision. He hated everything I suggested and vice versa. We finally came up with a list of 3 that we both *mostly* liked. At midnight the morning of my c/s (I had to be there at 5) he decided he wanted to finalize the name. I could have killed him! I went to sleep and we decided about 1.5 hours after DS was born. I never believed people when they said the baby would look like one name over others but we found it to be true in our case!
