Baby names you've picked - unique or classic?
Are the baby names you are either thinking about or decided on "different" or "classic".
Share the name, if you don't mind

For the girls we chose classic names that are uncommon. I have a Ryan too and we've met soo many others!
My DDs are Miranda, Melanie, and Amelia

Re: Baby names you've picked - unique or classic?
I'm not sure if DSs name fits into different or classic, his name is Wilson.
I like names which are less common, but not so unique that they are stand out or difficult to pronounce. ...but then again something which doesn't stand out to me, could sound totally odd to someone else
I think I lean more towards classic, but I don't really know
For this baby we have thrown around Theodore Hugo Grant Evelyn Willow Emery Lola

I love Amelia and that was totally on my list until a friend of mine named her baby that last week! I got PG just a little too late!

Re: Baby names you've picked - unique or classic?
We are torn between two names. Both are unique, one is way more unique (like not on the top 1,000 popular names list sort of unique).

Re: Baby names you've picked - unique or classic?
Our ds name is Jason, while classic in today's crazy names it's quite different.
I can NEVER find anything with Jason on it. I can find Carlos, or Janson but never any Jasons.
But in the same respect it's good because there aren't a lot of them running around either.

Classic and Ryan is our top pick for a boy. Actually our only pick!!
I have a very difficult first name that is not pronounced as it is spelled and growing up it gave me such a hard time. I hatttted the first month of school. I therefore really want to stick with classic names. DH is really into very unique names for girls. We will see how this plays out, ha

Re: Baby names you've picked - unique or classic?
Unique! Sonya Grace. You don't hear the name Sonya much if at all, but she is named after my aunt who passed away. We were very close, and DH and I heard the HB on my aunt's bday and decided if it was a girl, she was meant to be named Sonya. Grace, I just love. It's also my MIL's name so that makes her very happy. :) My niece is also middle name Grace so the girls will have that in common.

My nephew's name is Jason after his father and it's funny how that name isn't found on things, probably b/c it's not as popular today?

Re: Baby names you've picked - unique or classic?
I tend to prefer unique names while DH likes the classics.
We are pretty sure our DS is going to Be Aiden....it's the only name we agree on, and both really love equally.
Our runners up (hey you never know-there's a slight chance we might change our minds at the final hour)-are Logan and Mason....which I guess could be considered more unique.
ETA: But hey-a name could come totally out of left field and that could end up his name at the final hour

Re: Baby names you've picked - unique or classic?
unique.
well, not so much DS who is cole bennett
my DD is esme rose. i loved esme b/c it means beloved. it's different, but not made up =)
for #3, baby will most likely be miles or mireille (mee-RAY) which means admired. i'm just a little hesitant to use it b/c it might be difficult for her to go through life having to pronounce it all the time. then again, people had such problems with my name and i don't think it's all that difficult to pronounce!

That is so interesting that Jason isn't popular anymore - There were 3 Jasons in my elementary class of 28 kids, it so funny how the trends change!
I just looked at the top 10 baby names from the social security site and very few of them were even remotely popular when I was growing up, our kids are probably going to hear the name "Heather" and think it sounds like an old lady name, LOL Rank Boy Girl 1 Jacob Isabella 2 Ethan Emma 3 Michael Olivia 4 Alexander Sophia 5 William Ava 6 Joshua Emily 7 Daniel Madison 8 Jayden Abigail 9 Noah Chloe 10 Anthony Mia
