baby movement?
Everyone keeps telling me I'll know it when it starts happening but I can't tell. I'm 21 weeks so I figured I'd be feeling something by now but I'm not sure if it's just gas & my stomach being crazy (because it usually is) or the baby kicking. How do you know the diffenence?

Re: baby movement?
The first time I felt the baby was around 19 weeks and to me it felt like little muscle spasms. HTH!

Re: baby movement?
At 18w I felt weird things and wrote in my calendar that it probably wasn't the baby. The next day I was sure it was actually the baby...
I never felt "butterflies" but I felt little bubbles or spasms in my low low abdomen. I would feel it in one spot and later would feel it somewhere else. Unaccompanied by gas. I tend to feel it more often when I am sitting down or laying down than when I am more active

Re: baby movement?
I started feeling like little muscle twitches arount week 20 and couldn't really tell if that was the baby or not. I am going to be 26 weeks tomorrow and for the past 2 weeks or so, I feel much stronger movements that there is no way to mistake....so don't worry you will feel the baby really soon!

Re: baby movement?
I'm 19 weeks and I'm at the point where I'm preeeeetttttty sure that I feel it, but not positive. Sometimes after eating something sweet, or when I'm lying down at night, I feel a kind of bubbling sensation really low down almost by my bikini line. I figure I don't have intestines down there so it's probably the baby! Plus, it's a feeling I didn't feel until about a week ago. It's only 2 or 3 times a day for now, and most often when I'm sitting and, like I said, after I've eaten dessert or drunk iced tea.

That's where I always feel it...right down by my bikini area.

Re: baby movement?
At first you aren't sure -- but those weird sensations, bubbles, and twitching IS the baby.
When it's full fledged kicks -- yes you WILL know it when it happens.
I was the same way at 21 wks and convinced there was something wrong with me....that I would never feel the baby.
It comes out of nowhere and suddenly you are feeling it full force. In the next 2-3 wks you'll know exactly what I'm talking about!
