Baby is breach...
Hi girls,
I just got back from my 36 week appt and the doctor told us that the baby is breach. He said that if doesn't turn by our next appt (which is on Tuesday), that our options are either an aversion or a c-section. I've never heard of anyone having an aversion before, so I'm a little concerned. He also said that once we do the aversion, the baby might become in distress in then we'd have to do an emergency c-section.
Can someone please give me some input on this?
Should I have my husband talk to my uterus and flash a flash light there, so that the baby comes to the light? lol Ugh! this is extremely nerve wrecking!!

Re: Baby is breach...
I was breech at 34 weeks. Then at 36 weeks she turned into position. At 37 weeks she went back to breech.
They threw the option of turning her around or a C section out there. The dr didn't recommend turning her around for me AT ALL... so i went with the C section.
I know some people aren't all for the aversion's. Some are. I honestly don't know too much about them, just that they can be dangerous and my dr wasn't for it with me in particular (due to GD, baby size, and my husband's height).
If you do the aversion or the C section... did they say when they would do it?? I feel like you should have SOME more time to decide. I know they generally don't like to do C's before 39 weeks (unless emergency).

Re: Baby is breach...
My baby is breech and hase been since 30 weeks, I am 36 now. I was given the option for the aversion, but then my dr decided he was not comfortable with it, my baby has been on the smaller size. I am like MrsK scheduled for a c section too. I have heard mixed things about the aversion and you can put the baby in distress that is why they do it the hosptial, but then you will have your baby then. I am going with whatever is safest for the baby. I have been doing the positions and am trying the chiropractor today so we will see. they will only do the aversion in the 37th week because after that the baby is too big and there is no room for the baby to be moved, that is why you have such a small window.
Good luck

Re: Baby is breach...
Thanks ladies.
My husband and I talked it over and decided we're not going to do the aversion, but instead we'll wait for her to turn and if she doesn't we'll opt for a c-section. I think it's the safest decision and best for us. :)
