Baby hates medicine-help!
Does anyone else's kid spit out all the medicine?!
DS is 21 months, has had a fever and vomiting today, the fever has gone up to 103.2. The nurse at the pediatrician advised to keep giving him meds to keep the temperature down. I've tried Tylenol and Advil and he spits most if it out. I guess he still gets a little because his fever has gone down to 101.5, but any suggestions on how to make the medicine taking easier?
It's frustrating and I want to make sure he has enough medicine in him for bedtime.

i have said this before and offer the same advice.
Hold down, hold nose, open mouth squirt and let go. he will suck it down and be over in less than 30secs.
I still do this to my almost 3yr old.
he fights me so its come down to that and hes over it too once its down.

I agree. At 21 mos I think I was still using the syringe to give medicine. Also, once we switched to giving him medicine on the spoon, I was sure to buy dye-free since he'd spit it out and make a mess!

They also make them in the form of suppositories. When DD1 was young she had a high fever and vomited up the liquid Tylenol. The doctor advised me to get the suppositories and they worked well.

Feverall Suppositories... CVS also makes them. make sure you get the right ones. They have 2 doses.. My son won't take anything by mouth when he is sick and I have to give him these...

I'll try the nose thing and have DH pick up the feverall on his way home...somethings got to work!
