Baby fights being burped
DS fights being put into position to burp. I go to sit him up and he starts crying and pushes back. I put him on my shoulder and he straightens out and pushes back. He just wants to eat. He cries until I give him the bottle back. He also spits up a lot. And the more agitated he gets the more forceful the spit up. Any suggestions.

Re: Baby fights being burped
i have the same issue with DS i would get up and walk around with him in order to calm him down and burp him halfway through a bottle Recently (around 4 months old) i stopped burping him halfway through the bottle and only burp him at the end. i still get spit up on...but i get spit up on if i burp him halfway or not

The spit up is going to happen to matter what. He has reflux and spits up all day long. Just pours out of him. But if he doesn't burp he is uncomfortable. I do try walking with him on my shoulder. Helps slightly but he still fights it.

Re: Baby fights being burped
You can sit him up on your knee and then sort of hold his sides and wiggle his torso from side to side. This is something NICU nurses do. It works the burps out without putting pressure on his belly. Did you have him tested for dairy allergy?

Thanks for the suggestion. He does have an allergy and is on Elecare for the last two weeks now. He is three months old ( 1 month adjusted, born 8 weeks early)

Re: Baby fights being burped
When DD cries when I try to burp her I give her the pacifier. She's really just looking for something to keep sucking on (especially when she finished the bottle already). She can still burp even with the pacifier in her mouth.
