AURA
Who has tried BM AURA and what do you think of it? I hear that it dries really fast. How does it compare to BM regal? Thanks, Scott

Re: AURA
I love it. It takes some getting used to. You cannot go over the same spot a few time...you can go up and down with the roller in the same spot maybe two times and moves on or the paint dries and gets pulled with the roller. But it covers awesome. So you paint the room with minimum rolls......then walk away from the room and dont look for an hour....if you look before you are going to think you streak out the whole wall and you wee need to restrain yourself from re-rolling. When you come back the paint is all even. Then if you feel there are other spots to go over wait like another hour and go over it.
I painted our entire house with Aura and I will never use a different paint ever. The best thing about it was a few years later my dog scratched the wall and I had to touch up the wall. You just put it on a brush and in one stroke it is covered and it blended into the wall PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!! No need to roll a section to even it out
Also clean up....AWESOME! If you get a mark on your wall warm water and a sponge...gone.
We got the Matte finish. I absolutely loved it
Others will tell you it is hard to work with....I found it wonderful! To eachs own.
Good luck hope that helped.

Re: AURA
LOVE IT!! It actually saved my me from having to reprime my kitchen. I used behr paint in my kitchen which normally I never had a problem with but this time it was soooo runny my kitchen was horrible, I didn't think we could save the walls but my stepfather came over and painted it with aura and did 2 coats the same day...It didn't look like the same kitchen. I highly reccomend it. I haven't used anything different since.

Re: AURA
We have used it in three of our rooms. Coverage is awesome, there is very little odor and it is decently scrubbable even in matte.
BUT...my DH hated every minute of painting with it. It does dry very quickly so you have to really change the way you paint. When you cut in, you have to wait until it's completely dry before you roll, and if you don't do something perfectly you really need to wait until it dries before you touch up, or else it will peel away.

Re: AURA
I just made my poor DH paint over a BM Aura Merlot color because I hated it. He was insisting he needed to reprime to cover it but the guy at the paint store said 2 coats of Aura on top will do the trick and it did It dried in 1 hr allowing him to do 2 coats in no time. We used BM Alexandria Beige and it covered the merlot perfectly!!
To answer your question the Aura is a bit thicker and a little harder to work with than the regal but overall it comes out beautiful.

Re: AURA
we have only used Aura in our house. love it. it does go on thick and dries quickly, so the advice our paint shop gave us was put up the first coat, let it dry completely, and if you miss a few spots with the roller (or it looks like it didnt' go on completely), don't touch it. You'll get it on the second coat. If you try to go back over it within minutes, it will peel off the first swipe. We forgot to do this on one wall and quickly remembered for the others.
Other than that, no complaints.
