August Mommys - Christening Question

How early do you think is OK for Christening your baby? I would love October, before it gets cold...what are you ladies thinking?

DS was born 8/28 and we had the Christening the second weekend in November. The weather was surprising warm that day!

DS was born 8/17 last year and we had his baptism on 10/10. He was the youngest there but no problems!

ETA: We had an outside party and it was warm enough.

Re: August Mommys - Christening Question

I am due 9/1 so I am right on the fence could be an August or a September Mom! We are thinking of doing the christening in November. We don't want to go into December because of the holidays. Keep in mind that most churches don't do Christenings on Thanksgiving weekend so that's one less weekend to pick from.

I'm due 8/31 and the baby's christening is scheduled for 10/16. We have christening school tonight actually.

DS was just born 7/9 and his Christening will be Sept. 18.

I don't think there is a "too early" as long as you fulfill all of the church requirements.

Re: August Mommys - Christening Question

i think you can do it whenever you feel comfortable. the only thing i would suggest is if you are doing it before the baby's vaccinations to just be weary of letting everyone handle the baby for safety reasons.

This is the only thing that is worrying me about having it in October...I don't know when all the vaccinations would be fulfilled...
