Atlntic City with kids....

my parents booked a trip to AC for my whole family. Not my first choice of vcation with kids but they are paying and my dad gambles and he is old and sick and cant do much physically anymore.

My question is what is there to do there with kids? There will be 4 kids ages 8 months, 3, 3 and 4. And 9 adults. Thanks!

ETA we are staying at the Golden Nugget

Re: Atlntic City with kids....

for starters the boardwalk and the beach.

Beach is walking distance from pretty much all hotels.

If not, there is a great boardwalk, and there is a bunch of shops, places to eat as well as a mall.

Some hotels even have an indoor pool.

My DD loves it there. HAHA.

We took her to a show too. at time it was holidays so it was all blinged out and decorated.

Rainforest Cafe restaurant is on the boardwalk and fun.

There is also Storybook land which is an amusement park that is not too far from AC.

There is the beach off the hotels, cape may a short ride away with beach and pretty houses and a shopping area outdoors.

After the beach... There is a cute aquarium that is small but very hands on.

Rainforest cafe freaked out my 2 year old.

the beach was not that great when we went there a couple years back...... but its nice to walk on the boardwalk - there are shops - plus there is a mall that extends out over the water on the boardwalk... and mini golf on the boardwalk.

Golden nugget is not on the boardwalk but a short drive away. We just got back from ac (without our dd) but there were plenty if families there, and we have taken her in the past. You have beach ad boardwalk with plenty of little shops, the pier shops at Caesars, and the outlets (near Caesars also). There are plenty if family friendly restaurants and I'm sure a pool at the golden nugget. In feb I took dd to the aquarium (5 minute drive from where you're staying). It's small but cute, a cheap time filler. You can drive to cape may for the day also. You'll find plenty to do :)

Just got back from AC with my 5 yo and 1yo. I will second the aquarium (I think you can find coupons online), The Pier Shops at Caesars (they do a little water show towards the back of the "mall" every hour -- free and cute), and Storybook Land (which is nearby). Also, on the boardwalk there is a small mini-golf course between Trump Plaza and Caesars (near the old convention center). There is an IMAX theater in Tropicana (you can find a coupon online).

You can drive to Wildwood and go to Morey's Piers -- TONS of great rides and games for kids and you can pay per ride. There's also a waterpark there.

There's also Cape May Zoo, which is free (they ask for a donation). It had a lion, giraffes, zebras and snow leopards (among other animals). It's actually a bit of walking, so make sure whoever goes is up for it. (The zoo is actually closer to Wildwood than the town of Cape May).

Cape May also has a cute little mini-golf course right near the beach. There are shops, restaurants and an arcade for kids.

Hope that helps!
